You don’t get the magnificent KV6 sound but as a total package the 1.8T is a perfect engine for the 75/ZT. Surprisingly fuel efficient to☺️

Don't they gobble head gaskets?

@@user-sf7kl9uh7k They were rather notorious. But there are some simple solutions to make it more durable. I’ve done it myself on my 1.8 non turbo. Measure cylinder liner highs before choosing gasket. Upgraded oil ladder and high tensile head bolts. Very easy engine to work on.

@@SvennsCarchannel They're certainly good engines, apart from the silly HG issues

It's a heap
When this model 75 appeared, I really wanted one, but sadly, the price was out of my league. It still looks great all these years later ..
Another good video Paul 👏👏👍👍⭐️⭐️
Well there I was watching another PN car review and not expecting to see Allegroman! Nobody expects Allegroman! His main superpower is surprise and ruthless efficiency, his two superpowers are surprise, fixing up cars and ruthless efficiency, his three superpowers are surprise, fixing up cars, ruthless efficiency and devotion to Allegros - among his superpwers are are surprise, fixing up cars, ruthless efficiency and devotion to Allegros!😁
7:47 Yay! Alegroman! Come on fella, get ya s'en a cape!
Hmm fuel consumption....it depends what you're used to I suppose. In my view my 2.0 V6 is quite economical compared to the B Series in the 1.8 Marina I've been driving for the last 15 years, and it does sound nice! I always liked the 75 - but couldn't afford to spend 21k on a car in 2000! You could buy a decent house for 30k back then! I agree with your views on the design, I think along with the 600 it is one of the nicest looking saloons. Good old Allegroman. Great video!
Lovely. Allegro Man puts the Money in to get the Money back out 💲💲💲🚗🚗🚗. Good Man 👍.
White gold is what they called it Paul.A worthy model is the 1.8T..
I thought the registration looked familiar. I used to own AV53RRX!!
Does Allegroman have a channel? What is his favourite Allegro?

He doesn't, but I will keep suggesting he tries it
Hopefully plenum and rear light seals are good. Has issue with them on my old ZT 190 V6!
AV that’ll be an eastern plate- bury maybe 🤔 I wonder what the engine with a mild time and ecu chip can produce?
I wonder if a VVC head would fit - and work

No it wouldn't
Are there many or any Tourer 1.8 turbos ? Think I’d like on of those 🙂

Actually the side-on view lets the design down IMO in that the angle of the windscreen and A pillar is far too shallow and is unbalanced in relation to the rear screen… it also intrudes into the front of the cabin and gives a cramped feel and compromised view out…. It was the CO2 emissions of the 2.0 V6 that was the main reason for its replacement by the 1.8T…
Ahh so Rover must have redesigned the issues out of the K before strapping an air pump to its side? These engines must be gold dust.

They are not redesigned all that much. Low compression pistons is pretty much it. So the head gasket issues are pretty much the same to. Only additional issues you might have is if it had coolant mixed into the engine oil the Garret GT2052 hairdryer will take a dump as in most other cars.
