I am kicking myself seeing the advantages of your scissor lift. My shed at the side of the house was limited to 6m x 4m. the two post hoist only just fits in there and it is a pain to get around once I have a car parked between. Getting in and out of the cars between the two post has always been a bugbear for me. Your system looks like heaven. I might have to bite the bullet and change. When I bought the two poster I had it in the shed at the back which was 9m x 6m, so it wasn't an issue, but as I bought some old three phase machinery (old three phase machines tend to be quite large), I just ran out of room in the large shed for working on cars.

Dave last year I installed my 2nd scissor lift after using first 1 for about 15 years. (Looked very worn. ). My new lift is a different make to yours but with a lot of identical parts to yours. Hydraulics and safety system is identical. Mine came with custom made box sections that go over the hydraulic pipes to protect them. It uses a light sensor between the 2 ramps. If the ramps were to go out of level sync by a small amount it stops which I really liked and showed itself working when I was bleeding the system. Far better that a 2 post when doing jobs like working under the dash as you can have car door fully open. Enjoy your new toy I certainly do mine. 😊

If you have an optical sensor for sync, it is unlikely you have identical hydraulics and the same design. It might look the same, with twin rams, however these rams are connected in series with each other negating the need for an optical sensor. In this design, the larger master ram does the lifting and the slave is redundant. Cheaper models may have twin rams, but both are required for lifting hence the need for an optical sensor to keep it synchronised.@@the_retired_mechanic

A lot of hard work has gone into this refurb for sure and i can see why you have been off the grid for a bit. You can see the quality of the lift but I'm not sure my nervous head could cope with the concept of not having a mechanical restraint to prevent unwanted lowering of the lift. If the main hose ruptured, I'm assuming it would lower slowly due to valving ?? Can the ramps be lifted off the bed ? I'm just thinking this would be helpful to accommodate the Sharkeye alignment tracking tables. Looking forward to seeing the lift in action in coming videos . I'm on a 2 post at the moment but this has certainly wetted the appetite.........

There must be a hose from the pump to the rams and a hose back to the reservoir tank surely.... ??? . If a hose ruptures, or a control valve leaks, what stops the rams from descending?? Watched the video again and the master and slave rams surely just serve to balance the both sides - in the same way as the cables do in a two post. Either that, or its a case that it is operating as a split hydraulic system with the assumption that both systems don't fail at the same time?? Genuinely interested to understand how it works..
