Yellow/orange one reminds me of an orange freshly picked off a tree. Love them both
I know this is late…. Love these ideas! The yellow orange one looks to me like an orange! You could have lots of beautiful flowers and citrus and other grown fruits and veggies and maybe some wonky house/shed buildings…maybe a wonky chicken or two…. You would start a new quilting trend! Thank you! ~Sharon from Florida
I like both blocks. The yellow is beautiful.
I was making Rose Twirls and wanted another way of making roses from all the scraps you get from cutting the material off of the rose twirls. Found your video like this method a lot. It reminds me of a crazy quilt. Thanks for sharing.
I LOVE these two blocks! While the process is a little tedious, the results are SO dang cute and HaPpY! I’m going to try these and see what I can create. Thanks for your wonderful tutorials.☀️🥰

I like the use of your fabrics. For these quilt blocks. Great way to use scraps up. And it's on going or can be. Untill you decide how to use them in a quilt.

Glad I found this. I will try at some point. I like the yellow one.
I have never seen this done before😁. I think it's great, not that I'd be able to do it. I can't make anything just out of my head. I can copy maybe. Hope you will show more😁
Such a pretty creative way to use up scraps - I'll be giving this a try myself - thank you for your video
This is amazing. Its different than anything I have seen. Thank you
I was thinking about making a 6.5" rose block to use in the center of another block, such as a star or other 12.5" block. Looks like a fun scrap project. Thanks for sharing.
Loved you going through the thought process. That was the best I’m best in determining how to attached.

Thanks for this lesson! I'm so excited to try making some of these roses. I already have so many ideas of how I could use the blocks. Your instructions are very clear and I like your short, to-the-point style, and also how you show us your thought process as you work. Very inspiring! Thank you!!
I. Love these, such pretty flowers. Have to try this, thank you
Wow! That's pretty awesome! Definitely need to try this one out! Thanks for the video of how-to.
The honeycomb conjures up images of roses by the chicken coop. I like it.

I love your process and your finished products! Thank for the video. Yesterday I was trying to do a rose and it came out as a house, lol! But I'm going to be making more houses, fussy cutting the first piece. I'll be making roses too , with your example. 😀❤️

Hermosas las dos rosas!
Did you say your name is Nora? I like this video. I like the gray chicken wire fabric around the first rose you made! I think the pink trim that you put around it makes it look even better. Great job. Thank you♥️ Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃
Bellos..!! Muchas gracias
Love the way this turned out, and piecing the background like that is really a novel idea. I must give this a try. I can imagine a free motion background would really top this off. Great job, it is very pretty.

I love the idea of free motion background! That would be cool. Thanks for watching Linda!
Loved your tutorial, very nice. Just a suggestion when making two colour leaves, try sewing the two pieces of fabric together first before you cut your leaf shape, it will give you more of an idea of the size and shape. Have your ever tried foundation piecing I think you would love it. You have a great eye for colour.

That’s a great tip Debra. It actually didn’t occur to me till you just mentioned it. I’ve only done English Paper Piecing (and only hexagons). I’ve never tried foundation piecing but I’ve wanted to do a “Dear Jane” quilt that I think requires foundation piecing so maybe I’ll give that a go.
Linda flor.

My sister works for the VA, in a Veterans' home. She says they get so excited if they get some nice single or twin-sized quilts that are not red, white, and blue. I bet the veterans at my sister's place of work would enjoy a quilt made from your orphan, stray cat blocks. It could have a lot of visual appeal and variety. Colorful variety, too. Of course, there are plenty of charities that happily accept quilts. God bless.
I need to see how you attach background fabric to the leaves and the rose
@mostlyquilts1386

Thanks for the comment Lisa! I’ll be posting a video on this in the next day or two, but for now... Sew pieces of background fabric around the flower the same as you did to create the flower. Sew right sides together, make sure your top fabric is cut with a perfectly straight line and sew 1/4 inch inside the straight line. Keep sewing pieces on in this manner until you have enough background fabric to trim into a square or rectangle. At minute mark 14:56 there’s a bit of explanation. Good luck!

I thought of pillows right away! Trim to size of pillow you'd like, quilt it or not, make a back envelope style and put a pillow form inside! Beautiful!
What is the name/where did you purchase the tan/small white dot fabric? Would we always start with a 5 sided beginning piece? Would you suggest we always use the same fabric twice in a row?
@mostlyquilts1386
3 жыл бұрын
I have only made them starting with 5 sides but I think it would work with any number of sides. You could even start with a circle. I don’t think the fabric always needs to be used twice in a row. I would guess that however you do it, it will probably come out looking somewhat like a flower. If you end up experimenting let me know what you find out!
