Losing to spite your rivals is the definition of weak mentality so it's no surprise little Rory believes this. For Ange's system to work, he needs elite players and he won't get that unless he makes the Champions League. Spurs have the opportunity to become one of the most exciting clubs in football as a result. Who cares if their rivals win the league and get better as a result? The rivalry wins in the end.

When Blackburn won the league in '95, their last game was at Anfield. For Liverpool, winning that game meant they could've handed their biggest rivals United the league but no, they went out there and won it to secure a top 4 finish and to go out with the highest number of points possible. Regardless of whether Ange understands why spurs fans would want them to lose, or he doesn’t - how could he come out in the media saying he is sympathetic to fans wanting the team to lose, and then go and motivate a team to win - doesn’t work. Rory really should take a break and work on his comprehension skills of his native language. We’re not winning the league anytime soon with Arteta at the helm. He’s a serial bottlejob & a serial loser plus he’s so clearly out of his depth, every season that passes the usual suspects will strengthen & the fact that we’ve failed to capitalise two seasons in a row sums it up. Man City will not be dropping any points at all tomorrow against that lot nor in the game on Sunday against the Hammers. We bottled it with that appalling display against Aston Villa (at home!) a few weeks ago. Man City had destroyed them days before 4-1 at the Etihad, except when they played Man City it was their first eleven whereas when they played us they had injuries & suspensions. There was no excuse for us to give that disgusting performance, that is what has cost us the league.
