Seen Rory many times when he came to nyc. a true gentle man. loved him and miss him. RORY FOREVER
There are many great technically gifted guitarists but none with the sound soul and consistent passion of Rory. That is what makes him the greatest.
Rory has that touch on guitar very few have. He leaves you with a lump in your throat and you start to reminisce. Mark of a genius, simple and sublime ☘

The best Strat tone and blues phrasing of all time. Rory's singing brings such desperation and pain to the fore.

Rory just sends me on a musical journey with everything he does. This is one tune that digs into the soul. The whole band was on the money. Thank you for the upload ❤

In my opinion this is Rory’s ultimate gut-punch, heart wrenching blues number. It evokes so much despair on a very visceral level. I cry every time I listen to it but I have to listen.

was blessed to have seen Rory Many many times when he played around the nyc area. got to speak with him. A true gentleman and the greatest live guitar player i have seen. and i have seen them all. RORY Forever !
The great one. The best Real Blues guitarist of em all. No frills, pimp clothes, pedals or any frills. His strat had the best harmonics of any strat ive ever heard. Downright killer player who could wail as well. Hats off to ya, Rory. You were the best. R.I.P.

Tell me of a better blues track? The empathy in this playing. First heard Rory play this at the Edmonton Sundown in 1973. Never recorded on a studio album. You could cry listening. The band wow. Lou Martin on that piano!

There is no better or worse when it comes to music. My favorite performance of all time is SRV at the El Mocambo, if you haven’t already you really should give it a listen. Especially Lenny and Texas Flood
What In The World we do without the brilliant Rory Gallagher and his music, life would be different if we did not get to see and listen to this amazing player in action.

Thank you so much for posting this long marvelous blues which give you the opportunity to show us nice photos : Rory playing a lot of different guitars, Rory with his Bands and we can notice that on one of them the four of "the Taste" look very tired especially Rory! Unfortunately SRV seems to be way more well known. I didn’t discover him until a few months ago, with this song. Soon as I heard it I was hooked

I know it all comes down to a matter of taste, but to say Rory is equal to SRV is feeling like an insult to me. Rory had so much more rawness and feelings in his blues, at least to me compare those two is totally not done.... No pun intended.

DirkjeA, very well said. I agree with you totally. I saw SRV twice, both good performances, but seeing & hearing Rory only on KZread or on cds has been a life changing event for me. We are some of Rory's people. Greetings from Mississippi. ☘🎸🇮🇹
