I live in central Arizona.
Thank you for the great fig cutting and rooting video. I am going to try it soon. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for talking about the timing of taking cuttings-very interesting and helpful
Thanks for sharing
Love your method .. thanks 🙏.. definitely going to use this way of making cuttings
Great video
You can do a wax cap as well, probably an overall healthier method
This method is so different from all the KZread videos focused on taking dormant cuttings! I love that you have experimented and come to your own conclusions. One concern I have with trying this method, though: isn’t it hard on the tree to take cuttings while the sap is still flowing? It seems like fig trees “bleed” so much latex when cut!

Thank you! I love to experiment with different ways of doing things to see what works best.

Yes, you can put them under lights even before roots as well.

thank you for the answer.
After germination, the fig plant needs moisture to continue growing
How long do you wait until you expose them to sun? How long is your process to fully acclimate them to the sun?

I would wait for about 12” of growth and definitely up pot to at least a 2 gallon pot before direct sunlight. If grown under lights I do 7 days in outdoor shade until direct sunlight. You still may get some sunburned leaves but they will be fine, done 100’s like this.

What type soil do u use for your cuttings? How often do we water such fig cuttings, & how much amount of water should we put in while watering the fig cuttings when the dampness of the soil has become lesser??

I let the top of the soil dry out and when the pots feel lighter I water lightly again, just wetting the surface of the soil.

Your welcome!
Just came across your channel. I live in the East valley. Do you sell cuttings or rooted trees?
@azfig1088

Check out Figbid.com There are a ton of cuttings on there. There are some trees now, but more trees in spring and summer. In these KZread videos there is a link that goes directly to my listings on Figbid.
Would you have cuttings for sale in December?

I mainly root trees with most the cuttings, but I should have some.
You do that during growing season
@azfig1088

After the wood hardens off. Just no green cuttings. Can be done in fall, winter, or spring.
Your not using any rooting hormone?

I’ve used rooting hormone in the past, but it’s not needed.

@@azfig1088 I've been using Aloe vera on the part of the cutting in the soil and have had better success getting them to root. I also add one aspirin to a gallon of water, to promote root growth. I'm in Mesa, Arizona.
He lost me with the white paint. I used clear grafting tape
