Depending on the motor drivers you use, the fault/ alarm signals can be combined together. Then this combined singal can be sent to the controller, via one of its 8 inputs

Could you add a link to the opto isolated drivers please?

it is compatible upto 6 axis, with upto 2 motors per axis. so XYYZ and XYYZA are all supported. Please see this video of a XYYZA Configuration demo. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z3Z7lZKLhNPenrw.html

@@RootCNC need be connect whit linuxcnc this have only REALTIME safety controller software what can use, i used mach3 many year and lot only problem and not safety because not have REALTIME controller. and USB have lot timing problem, need be LAN connect only. or need build real good mesa crd copy but lot cheapen, about less 100$ need be mesa card copy. more in/out and LAN.

168$ expensive, same money can buy real mesa card and have lot more input/outpput, and can use perfect whit most popular linuxcnc machine perfect. i think thats first but not more in/out connection and lan connect controll all. not good use USB.

i was wondering if i coild run 5 limit switches and 5 closed loop steppers 🤔 and yeah i want to go 5 axis

Yup that is not a problem! The Root controller supports 6 motors and 6 Axis. You can gang motors together to form an axis, for example the dual motors on the Y axis for the Root CNC machine. this way you can auto square the machine. @@RootCNC but need be linuxcnc support, only software who working perfect and have flexiple make own system. many additional tools etc. i has try looking were can buy mesa card copy, this is perfect controller board what have made cnc builders. but too expensive hobby users ower 200$ board. hobby users need be less than 100$ board.
