this is one of the original videos that got me interested in trying ttrpgs 7 years ago. Now I'm an embittered perennial DM and I couldn't be happier. Thanks Hankerin! Strength, honor, and beer!!!

I finally convinced my group of friends to play DnD, and subsequently I'm going to be the DM. Your videos are incredibly helpful, thanks so much for consistently releasing great content!

I got a surge of inspiration here. See I had made a set of leveled platforms just to add some verticality to the table. My players are currently running through the Underdark and I think they have gotten a little to relaxed with their current state of affairs. During the night I will have a Goristro appear out of nowhere busting through a wall while he plows through the caves. The players will have to escape this beast by traversing the pillars. The players will have to take time but the Goristro can't walk over the bridges they use so he makes these gargantuan leaps from pillar to pillar. They have to figure out how to get to the next pillar while feeling the pressure of possibly being crushed by the next Goristros leap. I'm super excited! I aim to almost force them to leave stuff like food and other equipment like bedrolls behind so they have to go back to scavenging

Brother, there is something about your level of enthusiasm for the game that makes it sooooo much more epic. I echo TheGameMouse, I to wish I lived near you. It would be completely BAD ASS to play in your game. Strength, Honor and Thai Whiskey.

LOL it's as you can imagine, from Thailand and may have opium in it. I was in the service and was tested for drugs so i couldn't try it myself, but that was the "rumor" at the time.

I know I'm late to this particular party, but: I absolutely love this scenario and would like to borrow from it for a mega-dungeon I'm designing for the end of my campaign. What materials did you use for the crane? Are the cube base and the rectangle to which the crane struts are attached one unit that swivels, or separate pieces stacked? Thanks for your excellent videos and your enthusiasm. You've been a huge inspiration to me, as a DM!

One question, in the biome video you said it is cool to have a couple of mechanics that affect whole biomes. And for the underdark you said about the maddening echoes of the world below or something like that. Are you using that and if so do you use it always or only in the tunnels and such? Thx

hhmmm....cool. thanks. i just got into your videos from matt colville's channel, and its really cool because you both cover very different aspects. you cover more nighty gritty mechanics and more zoomed in, while he covers more zoomed out and about politics and ideas for running the game. Thank you so much for doing all the videos, they are really helpful.

hahahhaha My players are now entering a swamp so I guess that I will have 3 or 4 ready. I was thinking about some toxic swamp fumes that come up adn are actually flamable but if not burnt the players must make a con check every round within the fumes or be burned, and I was thinking of fucking with rest, like thee are so many bugs and so many things in the waters and in the swamp most of which are nocturnal that for every long rest you gain half the benefits of it, and gain a exhaustion level until you can find a true resting place in the mangrove swamp. but not going above 1 ex level, i don't know. What do you think?
