    Yeah, and people often knock him for bottling so many world finals but if it hadn't been for Hendry, Jimmy White would have likely won more than one world title. Hendry was an unstoppable winning machine and no player could get close, so Jimmy did something no other player could. When you think about it like that, Jimmy had some serious match play and stamina to reach all those world finals and get so close to toppling Hendry so often. I sometimes feel he deserved an honorary world title 😂

    Look at the follow through on Alex's shot in 1982. He put everything into it in order to create the cue ball reaction on those slower 1980s snooker tables. Look at Jimmy's final effort. Although it was very well timed and executed, he barely pushed the cue through yet still got the same cue ball reaction. However, this was on a modern day table where the cloths and cushions are faster and more responsive. I'm not criticising either shot because they were both brilliant, but Alex's effort was exceptional not only under huge pressure but also on a heavy cloth.

    Alex Higgins was a charismatic flawed Irish genius. Made from similar stuff to George Best. But yes he made snooker the boom sport it became in the 80s, similar to Bristow in the darts world, Ali in the boxing world, he had that aura that made you want to watch him. We loved him win or lose. Always used to joke that rather being one of Hearn’s Matchroom’s stable releasing aftershaves, if Alex had released one it should have been called ‘In Off’ 😂 but hey we loved it when he took those chances and we suffered along with him when they didn’t quite come off.

    What amazes me the most in Ronnie is his ability to deliver when it counts the most. I've seen him try to replicate his famous shots and it always goes wrong but he does it when it matters the most. Jimmy still has it by the way and I reckon he could still be a force in the game if he would put his all heart into it. I personally don't think Alex's 69 break is the best ever due to his poor positional play. He forced himself to have all the difficult shots he had to take. Ronnie 92 clearance in the 2012 wsc against Carter is to me the best ever.

  • @ernoeskeli1139

    @ernoeskeli1139

    Yeah, exciting but not the best clearance technically. If you force yourself to play difficult shots all the time it doesn't make the the break any "better" than a break where the cue ball is on a string all the way through.

    @@ernoeskeli1139 exactly. Alex Higgins 69 break was exciting yes but any modern day player from the top 50 would have cleared the table without having to take all those horrible shots Higgins had to take. Ronnie's 92 break started off with a poor positional play but after that was a master class in cue ball control and his shot on the brown coming off two cushions to spread the last 3 reds was exquisite. Ronnie actually tried to replicate that shot in on of these segments and as always it went wrong lol. But he does it went it counts

    Listen up everone because i have something very important to tell you: Never buy Apple products. Dont buy their iphones or laptops or computers. As a Blackman i can honestly say that Apple raped me very violently last year when i bought a brand new iphone 8 direct from apple and it had serious problems. Random reboots, earpiece speaker not working and many other problems. Apple refused to acknowledge the problems and kept raping me hard. When i first bought the phone with nearly a thousand in hard cash, as i walked out of the store during the rape my wallet suffered a massive internal hemorrhage from Apples sales reps. APPLE STORE GANGRAPED ME BRUTALLY AND VIOLENTLY AND IM STILL BLEEDING NOW............ Apple held me down and forced, opened the legs of my mind and slowly started pumping me with their sales pitches. I was violently raped by Apple. Here is what i want to say to Apples CEO, Tim Cook. You did violently rape me. You did force the legs of mind mind open and start pumping me with your analysis and then after pumping me brutally, with a loud scream you ejaculated your ideas inside my mind. Then you,ve pulled out and have ran off laughing. I have been left on the floor with legs of my mind open and bleeding heavily after the brutal rape you have performed on me.

    My dad said to me when Alex played cliff thorburn in the 1980 world final, with Alex having a good lead, he started to play to the gallery, and my dad nobody beats Alex, he beats himself, and too a certain degree he did, a flawed genius on the snooker table, 50 years a head of his time, as ronnie O'Sullivan said, he would bring it too a global audience, he would be like Tiger woods, a Roger Federer without a doubt......RIP ALEX

    @@Theemptythroneistaken OK, I see what you mean (that Jimmy's cue ball touched 3 sides where Higgins touched only 2 sides). Higgins' shot is ofcourse the most impressive, but I can't help but feel like a lot of Higgins' shots where just that bit too impulsive and it was, in a lot of cases, not clear if he really had the cue ball where he wanted it to be, as many of his greatest shots where with a lot of power, having the cue ball going all around the table.

Kudos to Jimmy for getting the shape of the shot and cueball position the same though. Possibly one of the best matches ever from my two favourite players. RIP Alex.
