Part of the reason Ronan is so respected is that he's not affiliated with any network or newspaper that so many call "fake news." He's a true independent who walked away from a network to get the story told. With any future story he tells, it will be nearly impossible to discredit him.

@@veenapaulson4934 Oh, Ronan has taken Woody down, too. I recently read an article he wrote in 2016 (I think in New York Magazine) about the alleged molestation of his sister Dylan and why he has no doubts that it happened. He recalled specific details from his childhood where he remembered Woody making Dylan suck on his thumb. Apparently, his behavior was recognized by both himself and Mia as disturbing, and he was in treatment for it. But I don't think it helped. Such a tragic story for all involved. Yet it obviously made Ronan sensitive to the issue, and he began investigating the Weinstein story. The rest is history.

An absolutely incredible journalist, fully dedicated to his profession. I like that he corrects Stephen multiple times, the story isn't really about all the allegations that have been buried (though those should definitely come to light), but about a system that has been built by powerful men to protect themselves from being held accountable for their actions. Holding those people accountable is half the battle. You also need to dismantle the systems they've put in place so that the cover ups and transgressions cannot reoccur.

To be fair, through out history, journalism for many was just a way to spread propaganda. There are exceptions to that rule, but many papers had stupid fucking headlines. Like how the news reported that negros and hispanics go crazy from smoking weed and will rape the white women! So, it isn't like there had been a general standard for good journalism. There have been plenty of individuals that went against that kind of reporting and gave details about shit we otherwise wouldn't know.

I love his style in that he keeps affirming that these stories aren't confirmed and that those rumors shouldn't be the story but simply the fact that they were covered up. Especially since he seems so sincere about it, he really means it and wants to remain neutral on whether they are true or not until they have been confirmed or debunked, whichever may be the case. He isn't cheeky about it and saying stuff like "I can't confirm this story but, you know, **wink, wink** ", which is what so many other "journalists" are doing and in those cases, it's then hard to dismiss Trump supporters saying that they are just biased liberals who want to get Trump out of office because of politics. Not in this case though. Farrow really seems like an upstanding journalist.

So was Roy Cohn, Joe McCarthy’s right hand man and Trump’s earliest con man advisor. Sorry but that whole Woody Allen scandal was hell hath no fury like Mia scorned. The fact that she cheated on Woody with Sinatra to give birth to Woody’s supposed son was immaterial to her. The fact that he ran off with her adopted daughter and has been in a stable marriage with Soon-Yi for all these years instead of staying in crazy town with Mia. She brainwashed those kids (although the other brother backs Woody’s account of things completely and say his Mom Mia manipulated both kids to believing he raped his own daughter.) Now that’s disgusting. This fearless fighter for truth ruined a great artist’s career for the spite of his mother. Remember what Shakespeare said, “First, we kill all the lawyers.” Is that enough for you now?
