Shakespeare would roll out of his grave, walk into the theater, and get a great laugh out of it! Seriously! He didn't focus on making sure the plays he wrote were attributed to him because the money was in getting people into your theater to watch and enjoy the show, not proving that you own a thing. As long as your play or version of a play gets people inside and enjoying it, it's good.

So fun fact. It's common in acting practice to have the actors hold something, as people can more easily get into character, and feel how they should move around. Many characters hold things differently. For example, playing a crazed character they put more movement in the hands.

So fun fact, the actors of various theater company’s in my area get together for “Bard in the Yard” where they get drunk and run through a play unrehearsed. A few months ago I got to attend their Vampire-Capulet, Werewolf-Montague rendition of Romeo and Juliet and that and this video both had me rolling. Bard in the Yard was in a backyard with the classic dialogue, but your modern slang on a stage was murder on my wits 💀😂😭 I was not prepared, right away just “why don’t women want to sleep with me? I mean girls, I’m thirteen”
That Apothecary scene and the recitation of Hamlet... damn. Lord Capulet also stole the show in every scene he was in
Not only did Alpharad turn Romeo and Juliet into a comedy without changing the script... He turned it into a comedy without even _reading_ the script. Now that's talent.
