What kind of court proceedings are these where the defense lawyers are so casual, making statements like I know how much you like him and many statements citing personal views…kangaroo court, also witness box a couple feet from defendant…crazy.

That woman police officer defense called was FANTASTIC! What a pleasure to have someone so professional, precise, and articulate. She did a great job for the prosecution. That lovely woman who's a chef instructor at Lincoln. What a gem. Her students are so lucky to have someone with such a big heart. I'll bet there was only one person in the room unmoved by her testimonial and memories of Dan, the one sitting in the defense box. Great witness for the prosecution. But disgusting that defense wanted to ask a sex question in the middle of all that sorrow. I didn't even understand the question; it was just all innuendo, but totally out of place. Does anyone know what that question actually was?

I don't know what specific sex act the defense lawyer was hinting about...but that whole topic backfired on her...the witness said whatever it was, it was said in a joking manner and in a situation that made me think of how things get said in a "locker room" atmosphere between the guys...but, of course locker room talk is notoriously exaggerated/lies...so she embarrassed the witness and got information that did not help

@@StellaFl that would still be a big backfire because she also stated that it was a professional relationship only...which is why she only heard joking comments made among "the guys" while in a public setting. I mean...the defense has to say SOMEthing...so l guess they are desparately grabbing straws. I bet you they totally avoid the topic of her car on all those videos...after all, "should l believe your 'explanation' or my lying eyes?"

The victims friend, her speaking about him just broke my heart! THAT is how one should speak of a loved one that was murdered! His friend is more emotional (not even in just crying, but emotional as far as how she feels about him), said far more heartfelt things. Yes, people grieve differently, but you can’t watch this awful lady(his wife) and say she’s not fishy in all of her behavior.

It’s mind-boggling how many leading and/or compound questions during direct examination are permitted without any objection. This occurred during the state’s case as well but I had attributed this to the incompetence of defense counsel. Truthfully I had been looking forward to seeing the prosecutors preventing defense counsel from asking similarly objectionable questions so it’s a bit disappointing.

Nancy put the nails in her own coffin in about 30 minutes from talking to the police. She lied saying she was home in bed, and videos from parking garage showed her in her car in the same area as the culinary school. Then with the last swing on the coffins, she calls the lead detective and lies about the life insurance amount and there were 8 life policies. She wanted a note to the insurance agent from detective saying she was not a suspect so they would release the insurance check to her.

The lawyers for the state and the defense are so professional and respectful, what a great opportunity to see the legal process work. The defense attorneys were intent on providing the very best defense possible within the limits of legal ethics, Nancy was well defended, although highly circumstantial it was beyond a shadow of a doubt she was guilty, I do not if Oregon has the death sentence but if they do she was lucky to only receive a life sentence ( given her age). So cold blooded.
