This guy is so in his head, it's a shame. He can totally do this stuff. He has the talent and skills, he just can't seem to get out of his own way.

It's too bad that he could hardly ever put one solid program. He might have gorgeous skating skills and musicality. But what good of it when he fails at so many of jumps time after time ? He needs a mental / sports psychologist to pep his confidence up.

(Sharon Shneyer, Philadelphia PA US), definitely, and perhaps a coaching change as well.

i know that people like to take the blame from Tracey and i agree that she shouldn't be massacred she might be a good coach that just didn't match with him specifically but its clear that her jumping technique doesn't fit him and at this point has already hurt his confidence deeply, so yes he needs a new coach and a technique change ASAP before he hurts himself.

We all have been saying that. He should have made that switch 3/4 years ago. Now he’s already 23. A beautiful skater and a wasted talent for the Canadian federation

It will be interesting to see where he goes from here. The talent is obviously there but his results have always been so inconsistent. I hope he continues on because he has one of the best quad salchows in the world!

she's supposed to coach him, tell him what he's doing wrong and how to fix those mistakes and do better but i guess at this point is clear that she might not have what's need to give him the right corrections, or her technique might not be a good fit for him specifically, that wouldn't mean she's a bad coach just not a good match for him, so saying that he needs to change coaches is not a direct offense at her at all

His coaches seemed to think it was a good idea to spend several weeks before nationals training a new quad he wasn't even going to use instead of drilling his program...
