Considering his string of bad luck not being able to make other competitions and his injury, this was a great program. Roman has one of the nicest camel spins out there.

Thank you for the video. No matter what, Roman is a very good and talented skater. And we all know what he really can.

But when he counts he doesn’t deliver. At the end of the day it’s competitive figure skating, not a showcase.

@@jjcepeda9398 nobody is claiming that he should've won with this skate, just that we can still appreciate his skating and capabilities.

What a beautiful performance. I really love when figure skaters actually perform music and can show artistry and they immerse viewers into the world they have created with that music piece. He really has great potential. I don't know his situation as it's the first time I see him but I hope he can manage to get all the support he needs to go far. I love music he performed to.

He's been the Canadian champion in the past, and a Grand Prix medalist. Unfortunately he's extremely inconsistent and usually struggles to land his jumps under pressure. He's the most beautiful skater though, and sooo many people rooting for him to get it together - he's perfectly capable, but seems to be a mental game at this point.

Thank you for the upload. This felt much cleaner than the short program, still gorgeous skating in both and will forever be an idol of mine. Excited for his next skate! :)

Thank you for the video, I was waiting for it and I'm not disappointed, just a shame that the technique hasn't been there yet, but it's an unforgettable program artistically speaking.

I hope he gets a sports psychologist. Coming back from injury is nog easy for anyone. Not my favourite selections from the soundtrack but he is a beautiful skater and the program was well choreogeaphed. I hope he stays healthy. His quad sal is beautiful when rotated and landed cleanly.

he is coming back from an injury, if he wouldn't have bad luck this season he would have no luck at all, I hope we can see him perform how we all want him, he has it in him

His spins are what saves him! SUCH a talented spinner and performer! Hope he can change the narrative about his jumps. Rooting for him.

Kaetlyn is so insightful and accurate and really a wonderful commentator. Ted is great too..lol. Roman probably didn't arrive a week early to acclimatize to the high altitude in Calgary. It is so physically demanding for any high performance athlete. I agree with Kaetlyn that on this skate Roman did not appear to give up like I've seen in the past. i would have loved to watch the nationals but the cold prevented me from starting my vehicle. It was -50 with windchill and NOT NORMAL for Calgary - it prevent me from going. I was planning to go for months...then we got this insane deep freeze.

What's going on with Canadian men's skating in the last few years ? They wouldn't place anywhere near top 6 in US let alone Japan or Korea. pairs and dance teams are ok but singles in both men and women ?

Do nationals dictate placement for next year contests? Ie. since he placed 5th, will he not be chosen for next years Grand Prix or other big competitions?

Canadian skating needs more motivation! More promotion. These athletes deserve more attention. Figure skating has gotten a bad rep...... ( rightfully so in some regareds) but lets work on rebranding!

Wasted talent. Glaring lack of a mental coach has been obvious in his training. Such a shame.

@@LoriRobertsonit seems more mental than physical. He does really well in the short programmes but then crashes under pressure in the long. The same thing happens at every competition.
