    @@senemgencer71 Irony: 99% sure Nathan has stated he's retiring/taking a break after Beijing to finish up at Yale and go to med school so all the score inflation/PR/etc is for absolutely nothing. I really hope they don't pressure him to stay past when he wants to go.

  • @senemgencer71

    @@msrudim6000 Yuzuru Hanyu graduated from university (and writing a nearly perfect thesis on the use of AI in figure skating) while competing and winning his 2nd Olympic Gold Medal, so I am sure (if) Nathan takes a one or two year break, he will be pushed to compete again. Sports has become much more political and industrial than we know. So dont be surprised if he is made to change his mind :) With all my respect for Nathan, as someone who has done her fair share of research on figure skating and knows a lot, I am very confident when I claim that most of his PCSs and spins are overscored. He is a great athlete (who also seems to be a very fine young man) and imo, he deserved all the medals he won THIS season but he is still overscored in many aspects. That is why he is winning with a big margin.

  • @msrudim6000

    @msrudim6000

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@senemgencer71 Oh Nathan is 100000% overscored, at least comparatively in PCS, even I, a newby, can see it. Talented jumper? 100%. as artistic as the scores imply? nope. Thing is, though, Yuzu did all that because skating is his life. If Nathan decides that the skating chapter of his life is over (and considering he`ll likely be going to a top med school, the workload will likely force it to be so especially since he`d originally planned to take time off for his sr yr which honestly has a significantly lesser workload) what can they hold over him to force him back in? Also, what would be the grand plan? get Nathan 2 olympic golds? Try to pass Yuzu`s fanbase to Nathan? Neither of those are feasible if only because little Yuma exists, is already a force and after WC21 has MANY fans either paying attention to or loving him already.

  • @divinearia1601

    I think Nathan's jumps look better...but, hey, I'm not an expert...just a fan like the rest of you. Yuzuru's look more elegant, but Nathan's are tight, have speed, power, and energy. It's all about preference. Personally, I find Nathan's more exciting to watch, and maybe it's the same for the judges. No need to put others down to boost your own favorite. It's so easy to accuse judges of being unfair, btw. Yuzuru has been performing sloppy, and I think he's being over-scored due to his popularity but, hey, I'm sure Yuzu fans wouldn't agree with me. You all speak as if you have facts or something. It's also stupid to be accusing the ISU of wanting a new star when EVERYONE already knows Nathan plans to move on from skating after Beijing to pursue his education(at least for a while). Sorry, but your silly conspiracy theory makes ZERO sense. And didn't Yuzuru win ISU's "most valuable skater" award just in 2020? What reason would the ISU have to want to bring down someone they acknowledge is valuable? The more you cry and try to trash Nathan, the more it sounds like sour grapes.

    Nathan's jumps are the most fun and exciting to watch because his rotations are so tight and fast. He doesn't even need as much height to do his quads, and his jumps have such a quick snap to them. His makes other skaters' jumps look a bit slow and sluggish in comparison.
