Mr. Mavers seems to do ONLY the jobs that even skilled techs avoid like the plaque. Suspension, bodywork, Oy Veh. An absolute joy to watch!
What a privilege seeing masters at work. Thanks that we may have a peak into your joy of bringing these magnificent works of art back to life.
Gary you have done a fantastic job on that black Rolls. Well done you!
watched ed stafford great but this guy is on another planet and tells in layman terms there is another guy on youtube madformotors these two are the best
Met Gary at the Classic Car show today, what a genuinely fantastic and down to earth chat he is, Thankyou for the chat, really enjoyed, Doug!
So I am over here in the United States and I only know you as a person who takes care of some really cool cars, I sense there’s something very much more to your life but I haven’t figured it out yet having said that my seven-year-old absolutely loves your show he likes your choice of music, he likes how come you are and we have a Ferrari and an Aston Martin so he is right into all the repair work that you do on your cars and other peoples cars, thank you for making a child appropriate and thank you for teaching my seven-year-old how to properly maintain a Rolls-Royce most of all
Sunday morning coffee with Gary! A true delight.

Sunday morning under the RR, no church....
Thank you Gary I'm in the USA Las Vegas watching your videos really help me with my convertible corniche I have a big challenge dealing with a frozen engine
Saw you at the show on Friday, was going to shake your hand and thank you for a great channel but you were deep in conversation (coffee in hand)
Thank you for taking the time to chat to me yesterday at the NEC.. It was a lovely day out.. Great video again.. (Phil)
So nice to see you work on your cars and the relaxed atmosphere of your channel
I’m still amazed that you managed to make a new convertible soft top for the black one. To be able to create that as well as the RR engineers could do is a real achievement in my eyes
I missed hearing Dover this episode, but was a good video. Thank you!
Hardy Spicer the grand father of the more rounded inner bearing set and the much superior Constant Velocity joint
You make it look so easy, I wish I knew how to do body and paint work like that!
Good to meet you at the NEC. XJS was stunning. Keep up the good work.
Yet another top video with top tips from a top guy ,all in real time..thanks again.
You're not wrong about the weather! Saving my outdoor car work until May....
Gary must look at all of the old Rolls Royce Clouds / Corniches at Shows, and silently bet that "this part will be worn", and "that part will need attention soon". When you own a Classic, the work never really ceases! Unlike the Spirit with the Square Headlamps, the Silver Cloud / Corniche are the finest examples of beauty, and pedigree before BMW influence. but this is just my view. Greetings from Australia.

Concur with your views on the Cloud, Shadow/Corniche and their Bentley sisters.
Wow that rear hub assembly, looks like it's off a truck! I can tell it's well made. Plus I like the rubber glove trick to hold the needle bearing in that inner drive axel joint, what a good tip, thank you for that.🙂
Can’t believe all that torque going through a couple of wood rough keyed tapers must work though rolls Royce
Great episode, enjoyed it, thanks!
I’m not a mechanic Gary, love your videos, your a legend! Thank you! 🌹
Fabulous Gary. ❤
The hub nut looked upside down to me.😮 Still, loved the episode 😊
Gary, I am so amazed how talented you are! I could watch your Corniche repair Videos all day long! It’s like candy to me! And Wow, you have 2 of them! How lucky you are! I hope you have a lot of fun with them!❤️
Well Gary, you do some good work, and on some truly classic cars, unfortunately I couldn't afford your tools and equipment, nevermind the cars, but I enjoy watching, that xjs looks better everytime I see it, personally I think the jaguar V12 engine, is the best British car engine, ever built.
The XJS looks so amazing there. I bet it received lots of nice comments.
I remember helping my dad get propshaft UJs off old ERF and AEC trucks as a kid. Well I say help, I just stood there holding a hammer while he either cracked them in record time or exploded like an atomic bomb. Makes me wanna buy a bearing press and some oversized sockets. Ace video as usual mate. 🤘🤘
Great video Gary…the smile on your face at the show is like a kid at Christmas. Thanks for posting…enjoyed with a cup of coffee and my cat this morning, great start to a new day!
Great episode, watching you work is excellent relaxation therapy, thoroughly enjoyable. Sadly, as much as I wanted to, I couldn’t make the NEC this year, but I hope it was a great show for you Gary.
Great video Gary, 👍🏻😀
Very interesting video. I only miss a little trip from time to time once you have repaired the cars, wit a explanation on how you test them or evaluate their performance. Thanks Gary.
Great video Gary 🥰🥰
Another good video those old Rollers are something special and are a tribute to you! Thanks for the advice on the R129 looks like the roof failed after I recharged the battery because of the delicate sensors - all fixed for a stay at the Lygon in 3 weeks! Hope we get some weather!

@@classic.obsession Hi Gary , don't take it personal but i would have approaced the rear wing differently ie feather the area further out then apply filler less chance of strinkage . Also 2k primer as apposed to 1k , i've been painting cars for 47 yrs also work on many classic cars and shrinkage is a big issue especially when a vehichle has had repairs before . Great video keep them coming 👍
You should wet your floors prior to painting if possible Gary. Saves dust from flying up and into your paint 👍 keep up the diy mate 😎
Another great video, thanks for that.
Absolute class.
Always a joy to watch you working on your cars. Quietly methodical. One question; I note that you use a hammer to tap bearings etc. Just wondered why you don't use a copper mallet or similar? The NEC show taster looks great. I will make the effort to get there next year. Keep the updates coming!
Hey Gary - Great to see you at the NEC and chat over a coffee . I took a look at the XJS after we spoke and its certainly looking fantastic - smashing condition and as good as in the videos, paint has a lovely shine and the polished wheel rims look fantastic. Im seriously considering getting rid of my BMW M50d and running a few classics but need to tow a caravan - XJS and a Silver Shadow would fit the bill perfectly I think; with the videos youve done over the last couple of years , I think these are a great foundation as the jobs to expect and keeping these things in the road. Great job on the paint repair and glad it wasnt more serious. When are the T-Shirts being printed up ? Put me down for a few Large ones when you do ! !🙂 keep up the great work and look forward to the next episode - Cheers Stew
Very relaxing video Always a great time watching you work Youre really a one man band in car repparing. Cant wait the next video
Nice work. Well done!👍
Thorough work as always, was thinking of going to NEC today (Sunday) , but couldn’t make it, next year perhaps , looks a great show as always
Very old school with that gun, I used to use develbis Jga 40 years ago time to upgrade to a gravity fed gun Gary you won’t be disappointed so much more agile and easier to use.👍👍👍
Wonderful music! Whose idea was that; inspired!
Great work as always.
I was wondering what sort of lorry those UJ's were off. I have done them on a TVR and they are half the size.

😢 Sadly the high costs oftened associated with repairing these now 30 - 40 plus year old luxury vehicles. Means often they are simply not repaired at all ,and become donor cars , or even scrap metal. I have personally seen in recent years several Rolls_Royce and Bentley vehicles of this era ,with so little real damage. Become donor cars !!. P.S . Many insurance companies will write them off ,after a little accident....

Agree with your comment completely. I very recently (like it's getting picked up by the shipper tomorrow and I hope to see it in a week or so) adopted (ok bought, but adopted doesn't sound so tawdry) a beautiful 1970 Bentley T1 RWD. The body and interior are in very good condition and it does run and drive but it has clearly been mechanically neglected. When I showed the photos and advert to a RR/Bentley specialist a couple hours from me, he coldly let me know his unvarnished opinion was the car should be taken straight to the crusher, which crushed me. I guess you can't look at a project like this in terms of ROI. I feel like the car is such a classic it deserves to be saved. I have already restored a Corvette which I have more than double the bucks into than I could ever get back selling it. Pretty likely this may happen again with the T1. But I consider it like going to Grad School mechanically and hey, a husband could have way worse hobbies. Watching Gary's videos has given me the confidence to take this project on. And as Gary admonished, "Just take your time and enjoy the process" I can't wait till the Bentley gets across the country and into my shop.

@@Luscombe47x 🙂👍 Thanks for your comment. I bought myself a few of these old Rolls_Royce and Bentley vehicles. And yes so far ,have spent a very large amount of money 💵 on them . Much more than I should have, and of course will never make any money back on them in the future. But I simply don't care, because I enjoy driving 🚘 them so much. Remember life is short, enjoy what time you have on this earth, you a born with nothing, and you will leave with nothing !!.
RIGHT: BUY A POSH CAR and HIRE A CHAUFFEUR who also is a gifted mechanic.
