Rolling Stones Singles Unboxing & U-Turn Orbit Theory Turntable Written Review Follow Up
Музыка
The U-Turn Orbit Theory full written review is up on the trackingangle.com website. This video shows you why I so much liked the U-Turn Theory-especially it's molded magnesium tonearm. That's followed by an unboxing of the new ABKCO "The Rolling Stones 7" 1963-1966 Singles" box set-a comprehensive, chronological overview of The Rolling Stones’ early career as pop chart hitmakers. Contains 18 vinyl 7” 45 RPM singles and E.P.s in original picture sleeves, a 32-page book with liner notes by Rolling Stones authority Nigel Williamson, plus set of 5 photo cards and a poster, all housed in a hard-shell box.

How has it been holding up?
The wobble on that table is impressive.

It’s a super light table. Easy to set up and move.

It gives me anxiety.
Nice turntable! Plus I bought the stones box sets. The 45’s sound great! Enjoy playing them!
Turntable Looks great!
what I love about this is it's tone arm and we can disengage the phono preamp
Great overview. I really enjoy all your stories and wisdom. I was thinking if you’re going to be doing more of this type of review that you can probably justify something a little bit sturdier than a TV tray. 😀

It’s actually a super lightweight easy to fold and quite sturdy despite the wobble folding table easy to move in and out of the room as needed. The wobble looks scarier than it really is. I’ve had some very heavy items on that table!

@@trackingangle929 Reminds me of my grandparents' card table. Great technology
Great review and unboxing. Thank you Michael. P.S. - I think you need a more stable table to set these on though for these videos, that one has the wobbles, lol.

It's a super light table useful for this kind of thing. it wobbles but doesn't collapse.

@@trackingangle929 HEY, just like you! 😀
Been tempting to sell my orbit which already has the Ort blue and the acrylic platter, the tone lever and all...and try one of these. Though I'm not sure it will sound like....twice as good to justify it since I'm mostly happy with the choices and upgrades I made. Though I prob should've went with the Pluto which I suspect would give me better output than my receivers built in phono stage.
TrackingAngle~ you made cool video, have a good day,;))
Is the Pluto 2 phono pre MM and MC? I just got my first MC cartridge, mono, and I love it so very much.

MM only or High Output MC

@@trackingangle929 Thank You. It seems like a great Turntable for the price point. I am thinking of adding one so I can keep a mono cartridge on one and stereo on the other. I used to wonder why you had two tone arms on your amazing setup.
I've got the Orbit custom in Walnut with the Grado Black cart. I wonder if they would let me send it back and have them install this new tone arm on my existing table? That's the only thing that I'm not 100% satisfied with on it.
Was waiting for the table to fall over at any moment.

It’s actually quite sturdy!
REALLY struggling to choose between this and the Pro-Ject X1. Do you have a strong opinion between those two?
I am looking forward to the next Rolling Stones singles box which takes off from 1967. If they use London Records version of some of the singles, hopefully they will get use the correct label design. The labels were not spokes but more of a fan design. Then, are they going to release them in stereo or mono? At the end of the 60's, London was putting out some promotional stereo versions of the 45's, like "Honky Tonk Women" b/w "You Can't Always Get What You Want". Although the mono version of "Honky Tonk Women" is a real thumper, the stereo version is even better. Then under their own Rolling Stones Records 45's, the general public only got the mono versions through the "Tumbling Dice" 45, but there were also promotional 45's with stereo versions. In these cases, the mono versions sound like something Volkswagen would make while the stereo versions sound like what Rolls-Royce would make. I have noted that since Allen Kline(ABKCO) took over the Roling Stones records, quality really went down, especially the records on the ABKCO record labels pressed on lumpy recycled vinyl. They made the old styrene 45's seem like they were made of gold. ABKCO seems to usually be atleast one brick short of a full load when they release a record or CD. Like reproducing the London 45 single labels incorrectly. The later re-issued LP's pressed on clear vinyl seem alot better.

The SACDs issued by ABKCO in 2003 (and on regular CD) are still the best editions to date at the time, despite a few flubs. Real stereo, real mono, whichever was appropriate - Now! and 12x5 and Dec Children were all a mix of both.
Orbit needs a stacker and fully auto model. They have how many manual models now?
How much for the shakey stand?
The Brian Jones Blues Band. Little dig on the weight vibe at someone we know?
Do you have a link for the turntable mat?

Only $350 for a turntable mat. Presenting a video on an (arguably) affordable TT and then showing a mat that’s 35% of the price of it smh
I have Debut Carbon DC with 2M Red. I bought it in January 2022. I paid € 310 for a new turntable. But I live in Europe, we have Pro-Ject and Rega at normal prices. Greetings from the right side of the pool 😆
What’s your favorite platter material? Aluminum?

MoFi TT uses Delron I think, which is supposed to be really good.

Aluminum alloy is certainly better than acrylic. Delrin is somewhat better than acrylic. Ceramic works well too...

@@trackingangle929 where does Rega’s glass fit in your hierarchy?
I know I'm late, but the ep Got Love (1965) is totally different from the US LP Got Live...(1966).:The latter is a weird stereo mix, the earlier ep is a real thrill ride, I'm All Right used on Out of Our Heads. Dec. Children had two explosive excerpts from the mono EP, including the apocalyptic closer, Hank Snow's I'm Moving On w/ Brian on slide.

Ordered a Custom very decked out. Close to what the Theory is. Looking forward to in in a couple of weeks.
How does it compare to a Rega Planar 3, or Planar 2?

Haven’t done a direct comparison… those are very good too. Would be great to have all in the room to compare…
Which pressing was the best of "Sticky Fingers?"
I thought you didn't have to have a mat with an acrylic platter?

Did you ever listen to the Stones singles? If so, what’s your take?
How do you not have a link to the written review in the description? Come on man.
I read a review of a new book on the Rolling Stones that states that Mick Jagger has had sexual relationships with both Keith Richards and Mick Taylor of the band. Gross.
