Yeah, really they were the oldest rock band that was still around after 13 years, consistently huge - 5 years after the Beatles breakup. 30 was the cutoff point at which rockstardom might be seen as embarrassing! (A la Elvis) They did continue to make great work and do great shows after Some Girls. Maybe not as many seamless albums but except maybe Steel Wheels (which does have Slipping Away) they all have some Great songs and performances, and show real evolution!

He's looking fine as wine 🍷. Mick doesn't really care how people see him. He's cool mixed with bad boy, and you can see his sly grin that he takes control over any situation.

I've loved the Stones since the first time I heard or saw them when I was 12 I think. I was still in grade school I think. It would've been in 1964 or possibly 1965. I know when the Beatles came on the scene I was in grade school because my friends and I would play outside during recess and sing "I Saw Her Standing There" and "She Loves You". I think shortly after that the Stones came on the scene. Maybe someone in the comments knows those details. I'm just going by my memory. I'm 67 now and I still love them. Big crush for Mick!

Yeah 75 , I saw them at Earl’s Court in 1975. With the lotus flower stage opening up and jagger descending onto the stage from the roof . Fucking great. At the end of the concert when the crowds poured out of the venue the traffic was stationary and the tube station was on the other side of the road ! Solid traffic divided us ! At this moment the stones let go with an enormous fireworks display off the roof of Earl’s Court stadium and the crowd outside just started climbing onto the cars and we went across all the roofs of the cars to get to the station which they were just about to close. Pandemonium ensued ! A great memory ! Long live the stones !

It's fascinating because the press at the time never referred to her as beautiful. They would call her 'exotic' and commented on her 'cruel mouth' and 'harsh features' and how she wasn't naturally beautiful and how she had to try to be beautiful through fashion or makeup etc.. (these are actual descriptions from old magazines I have). We see these videos and think 'wow, she's stunning!' What's changed is our cultural perception of beauty. All those descriptions of Bianca that had a negative, demeaning connotation now seem so obviously racist or anti-ethnic, because looks like a perfect example of a Latina women. We now live in a time when women of color and different ethnicities are celebrated. When Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lupita Nyong etc are iconic because of their looks. Bianca cane along at a time when blond, or European features were the norm with very few exceptions. There's a new generation who now seesBianca as a style icon not only for her sense of fashion but her very ethnic beauty. I've always found that fascinating. She was always beautiful, but she was being judged by very old fashioned and European-centric eyes.

@@ycoz5814 i think she was seen as beautiful. The general commentary also observed her looks as similar to Mick's. And she was respected for her role in the Earthquake benefit of 1973. She was also seen as a snob, especially by Keith and Anita. And as the marriage deteriorated so did her and Micks public image. Very smart and impressive even today.

@@wulfsorenson8859 I agree with you! Said as much in my post. You confusing me with the first guy talking about "changing perceptions"? She was seen as distant, snobbish, and she and Pallenberg disliked each other, which was a rift in the Stones. But her intellect and beauty were widely accepted. Some saw the marriage as an example of Mick's 'social climbing' which I didn't buy either. Women as strong as Anita and Bianca would influence the Mick/Keith dynamics, a la Yoko and Linda in the Beatles. But Lennon always said The Stones were married to the Rolling Stones First.

I missed the 1975 concert at the LA Forum because my dad wouldn't let me out the house yet .. even though I was 15 and the Forum was just down the street a couple miles from where we lived at the time . So bummed and cried all night ... so beautiful in the 70s .

Is this the actual audio that goes with the video? Audio is not in synch with the video and given the lip movement, it seems like the audio from a different video.
