Rollers.

Ойын-сауық

For an upcoming project I need two rollers to hold a shaft in place.
A nice little job for the Celtic 14.

Rustinox, great video. One tip I have for your bandsaw, I have the same style. I made thumb screws to replace all the Phillips head screws for the blade cover. I can now change/fix a blade in 1/4 of the time it used to take. As always thank you for sharing your expertise. I always learn a lot.

Hi Michel. A well crafted project using your no nonsense approach and reuse of rusty steel. The rollers look perfect. As for your oil leak I feel your pain. Both my milling machine and lathe suffer from unknown oil leaks 😢. One day I must find where and why. 🥴🤔

As always, an entertaining and inspiring video. "25% extra"... Be aware! When a liquid soap bottle contains 25% more the hole is 50% larger making You consume the content 25% faster! This according to a seller for soap! Working well, well done, as always. Cheers and thank You for well recorded and presented happenings.

it's typically shaft seals on either the big main seal behind the chuck (which is a PITA to change) or one of the shafts that run the thread cutting acme screws in the lower gearbox that leak oil most of the time

Leak-Trace is a spray leak tracing powder in a spray can. This can be used to find your leak if it is in a visable area. You spray it on the surface (surface must be dry and moisture free) like spray paint and it dries to a white power. Let it sit and any leaks will cause the powder to change color/ darken. When done you can easily wipe away the dried powder. The key to using this powder is to throughly clean and dry the surfaces to be checked. If a gasket edge is not completely dry it will show a false positive for a leak.

In the past, when doing auto repairs, we used a fluorescent dye in the oil of the component we are leak testing. With the aid of a black light, the leak will be very visible. Hopefully this will be useful. 😂

@Rustinox You should be able to purchase this product at any auto parts store, They make dyes for AC, Engine oil and transmission. You can just use a blue LED light to illuminate the dye.

My lathe has a slow leak in the seals for the apron drive shafts. I am too lazy to disassemble and install new shaft seals, so I just put down some of the pads used for puppies to pee on. ( pads that are also used for patients that wet their beds)

Greetings Rusti, as an old motocyclist (for over 50 years), I don't mess with gaskets on troublesome joints, use a good quality silicone rubber gasket maker and kiss all oil leaks goodbye forever........ BUT OF COURSE THERE IS A PROBLEM.....You have to strip the beast down again! Lookin forward to see how you fix the problem.

I don't think I have ever had a machine tool which didn't leak oil from somewhere. 0.3mm over on a 9.5mm twist drill seems in line with my experience, if you're after accurate holes drill under size and use reamers, or bore on the lathe.
