I love the 114060 because it's so we'll balanced. Having the cyclops just ruins the symmetry. You can get away with a cyclops on a date just or day date but not on a sports watch. Just my humble opinion.

Agreed! It’s perfect and built to last for generations. One of my sons is a US Navy rescue swimmer. I will pass my 114060 on to him someday. He has already earned it.👍

I might come off as pedant here, however the ceramic bezel (and super-case, glidelock, etc...) versions were not introduced in 2010 with the reference 116610LN, but in 2008 with the 116619LB.

Diego OG well actually the Super Case and ceramic bezel came out in 2005 on the 116718.
can’t get my hand on one for reasonable price. Sold out and waiting lists

I see no reason. From my point of view, when you look at the competition, its even them overpriced vs the competition when it comes to finishing and tech. At this point you cam grab a Grand Seiko 200m diver, and even a 600m regular/limited edition titanium GS diver, with either 36000 hi beat or 5 days spring drive movement, which is superior in every possible way to a submariner (material, finishing, movement, tech) , for less than a plain old submariner. Why would you ever look the other way?

Because the Submariner is as close to the perfect dive watch design as there is. The ergonomics and wearing comfort are second to none. The bracelet is second to none. The bezel action is second to none. The aesthetics are second to none. It's the most iconic of dive watches. Grand Seiko makes some very nice watches, but their dive watches still leave quite a bit to be desired.
