Atticus if you listen to it with headphones it's much more even. most people with this high of production use headphones when editing and then forget to listen to the audio without headphones to make sure all the audio is spread more evenly

This is my dad’s watch, and the first watch I think of when someone mentions Submariner. I love it, it’s both durable and elegant. Truly a great piece for a collection.

Guys at the end of the day.... we might not like everything about the new changes... but it's STILL the TGV that's we've all grown to love. I'm extremely happy for him. He gets to live out his passion for a living. Something people rarely get a chance to do! Cheers TGV! Onwards and upwards!

But after peddling all those squale watches. I too fell into TGV'S tactics and thought that squale was a good brand. Thankfully I wasn't the only one and managed to flip the squale without losing. And now TGV " made it" after climbing up with the help of other KZread personalities only to turn his back. And now no more squale or seiko it's all rolex rolex rolex. Hilarious.

In 2009 while on a cruise I walked into a Rolex AD store in Cayman Islands. As I was standing there and admiring this watch they informed me that this was the last watch they had left and the rest of them were new 2010 models which were for sale at much higher price(I believe they were about 9k). By this time I been thinking about purchasing a Rolex watch for about eight years and they did nothing but went up in price every year. The sales lady at the store told me if I was interested in this watch they were willing to sell it for $7100. After consulting with my wife I finally pulled the trigger and purchased the watch. For the next 9 years this was the only watch that I wore. In the last year I got more interested in horology and purchased other watches but this is still my favored. I never had the watch opened, serviced, or polished and it is still keeping good time. For me it’s been a perfect watch whether I am working around the house, at work, or night on the town. All I have to do is rinse it under water and it looks great! Best purchase I ever made.

I think this might be why it didn't seem right. Plus the music seemed weird. I guess I just like classic TGV because it sounded a bit more "every man" vs like a commercial.

Sonik, too many water shots. One or two shots by the water fine, but bot handfuls of him leaning against the rail flexing the Rolex.

I agree. It is underrated and it does have a sophistication the steel ones lack. My very first real luxury watch was a two tone sub model similar to the one you are wearing. I purchased it in 1987. Still have, still looks great.

I love mine since 2000. My favorite Rolex, undeniably. King of my collection. Cheers

I do enjoy the slimmer profile of the pre-ceramic subs. Let everyone hype up the newer maxi case, pulling attention away from these little gems, and keeping them somewhat more obtainable for those of us looking to acquire our first Rolex Submariner. Great video as always TGV. I bought this exact watch for my father's 70th birthday, it is a brilliant timepiece. I purchased myself the SUB at that sametime. Since then like yourself my Rolex collection both new & vintage has expanded. But I did make a bad decision in purchasing the all good SUB with the ceramic bezel when it was first released, I have only work it maybe 5 times in all those years as it just doesn't suit me. And naturally the resale on this piece with the demand being solely focused on all the stainless steel models makes it pointless to sell, as the offers I received were so low that I thought I would simply retain it. But I will buy the new two tone SEA DWELLER at Basel this year as the size is perfect for my 7.5" wrist.

Beautiful Sub! But don’t You think that while it is more elegant than steel version it is less tooly and simple on the other hand?

Great video! The watch is gorgeous. The two-tone gives it a nice refined and bit of a vintage look. It has a subtle pop to it, but not overbearing.

Good evening TGV, the video is very nice to watch, always a pleasure when you take the show to the outside. The older I get, the more I dig Two Tone or even full gold watches. For the Sub I personally would not go full gold, but Two Tone is very nice (just as the GMT Master Two Tone). The contrast between the black dial and bezel with the flash of gold looks very delicate in my eyes.

I have this exact watch. It is as much in its element in the extremes as it is at a formal meeting. My favorite thing about it is its nod to the 50's/60's era. However, I am an old soul. Very informative and enjoyable video!

The sub can’t be “played out” anymore than any other classic. That’s like saying you don’t want to watch The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly anymore because you know what happens...or getting rid of your vintage album collection because you’ve already heard Abbey Road. I plan on picking up a two tone as soon as my AD calls me, hopefully by mid September for my birthday. As always, thanks for the insight TGV. Keep up the good work. Give my best to Hugo. 👍👍

Now that you're down this two-toned path, you should go full bore with the GMT Rootbeer! The Rootbeer will get you exactly where you're headed while preserving wrist-time with your steel sub.

I recently acquired a 1991 2-tone oyster bracelet blue dial datejust 16233 and am simply amazed with it. A little more bling than my black 2000 Explorer2 but perfect with jeans or suit, and you can’t beat the comfort of a 36mm. I certainly understand your attraction to the 2-t sub. Enjoy! Classy piece, I’d say go for it

Love the 2tone watch as lots of NHL players wear them due to their sophistication. Age 30 and up is perfect milestone to buy one. I have the blusey and love it. Gets so many compliments. It is a lot flashier than silver. Two tone is the best compliment between silver and solid gold.

We watch people really are a funny lot. You have a steel sub, then you start craving for a two tone, you have a no date, you are hankering for a date. There is no end to this...

I love mine. Have same model. Looks pretty classy compared to the stainless model I have 16610. Great video. Made me fall in love with the font again.

On another note I was looking at a version of this watch before I picked up the Hulk - not a fan of two tone bracelets but I LOVE the colour scheme. the smudging of the bracelet really put me off in the end. Brushed steel all the way for me.

Perhaps the King Emeritus as it's the older model with the older clasp. Beautiful watch and very different from the gold Day Date - about $8K different. Possibly a nice transition to a more mature style.

Agreed about missing the intros and the hope the intimacy of the old videos is not left on the cutting room floor or some producer's laptop. Sometimes production team = over produced. I am sure you are still working on finding a balance between the two. Looking forward to more videos.

Like the new style TGV👍 I considered the 16613 too, but then I tried the 16713 GMT II on a jubilee which I think has even more vintage vibe... and do not scratch or smudge as much. But TT 90’s sports Rolex are definately 🔥🔥🔥

Wow, didn't think I'd see you considering either a two tone or all gold Rolex :) I guess tastes do change, and I agree that the yellow gold two tone pre-ceramic Sub is nice. Although I might prefer the Rolex ceramic "Root Beer" GMT (if it's possible to find at an AD)

Great video! I think they transition models with gloss and sapphire will sky rocket in price as the sponge dial to flat black as some are already doing as they age and patina. Great choice TGV

Very slick-looking video, TGV. That's a gorgeous watch. I preferred the classical music you would play in the background of some of your videos to this generic beat, but other than that, the video was great.

7:20 I honestly like the “anchor” that is connected to the Rolex. Yesterday, I saw such an achor for sale on an auction site. I am not sure, but do they still attach such an anchor when they sell a Rolex Submariner? I find this anchor a great idea, distinguishes the brand from other brands and really creates a premium feel. If Rolex doesnt use it anymore, it certainly is a missed opportunity.

Hi TGV. I’m enjoying the new production style you’re employing with the WatchThe around town backdrop was cool. As for the Sub, personally, I’m not much of a ‘gold watch’ guy, but i thought the blend in that particular Roley was very tasteful and handsome and I recon you can pull it off, should you decide to pull the trigger. The missing GlideLock clasp is a bit of a shame though given the loss of convenience. I’m confident you’ll have much fun experiencing prior to buying 😁. O &U brother.

Lovely watch I owned one. I sold it to get the solid gold blue dial sub last year with glide lock adjustment. It’s quite blingy of course and most of my watches are more reserved but it was always a grail watch for me as I love the sub And Rolex intense blue and their quality of gold. I went through a phase of big watches but 40mm is perfect again for me. I liked the style of this video. Nicely done.
