    Good review, a watch that will last a lifetime, easy to adjust, super accurate and well built. Dress it up or down, wear it in the sea or pool, slips under a cuff, very classy!

    I really appreciate that you made this video! I was looking for a review of this particular watch by someone with a wrist size similar to mine (mine are 6.25"), and you took your time to share your impressions and comments in a very down-to-earth, unpretentious manner, like a friend in the room talking to you... a breath of fresh air from so many "watch influencers". enjoy your timepiece and wear it in good health!

    I’m looking at this for my second Rolex, and that easy link extension has been a lovely luxury. I really love how bare-bones the OP is, and how well it flies under the radar. My only wish is that it came with an oyster lock clasp.

    great video - I own the green 41mm OP myself and my partner owns the 36mm pink (I reviewed on my channel). I think they're almost perfect too, the only thing I dislike is the AD games. I was on a wait list for over 14 months and decided to buy on the grey market, since it seemed silly I couldn't get one through an AD, but if I walk into a store down the street, I can get one the same day (albeit a much higher price). I hope Rolex will one day put a stop to the grey market resellers!

    Oh I can only imagine how nice the colourful dials would look. Yeah you need a lot of patience going through an AD, I think thats what puts a lot of people off.

    I have the previous version OP black dial 36mm 116000. Looks very similar except the lugs.

    Have the steel dial 116000 and I think I prefer the chunky lugs and Arabic numerals instead of the dots. The new has the easy link which is an upgrade for sure.

    A fine watch to be sure. For equal or less money you can get an impeccably detailed dial, gorgeous Delphine hands, polished indices, a movement that blows away any Rolex accuracy claims, fit and finish second to none. I’m referring to the Grand Seiko spring drive.

    The Tudor bb39 has 15000 milguass rating killing the Rolex OP. It’s thicker though. Love the timepiece

    METAS is 0 to +5 spd. I also wanted a classic watch. At the time I could not get an OP or Explorer through an authorized dealer, but I did pick up the new Speedmaster when it was announced (there was a slight wait of a couple weeks) and it's nearly perfect. Like you, I do wish it were a bit smaller (I have the same size wrist). It's 42mm due to the asymmetrical case, but it really wears like a 40mm watch, which is better, but in a perfect world I wish it were a total of 40mm with the asymmetrical case and that would be ideal for a chronograph. 50M WR is a nonissue with Omega. When they say 50M, they mean pressure tested at 50M. I can't think of an everyday scenario where that isn't enough. That said, I would like to have a 36mm OP, DateJust, or Explorer. They are just very difficult to obtain the last time I looked. Of the new OPs, black would be my first choice, but I'd like to see the silver in person to see if I could like the gold accents, tough to judge in photos and videos. Thanks for the review.

    A ni e watch, just fot my dads old perputual date just, he had it for 30 years, never serviced, wored everyday, he was a firefighter, when dirty, just threw it in the dishwasher….so it had time on it… paid rolex the 500 pound for a full service and polish up, looking great again, and it will be beating 30 years again,till my boy gets it. You don buy a rolex… you take care for it, till next generation to pass on to

    This is like listening to myself! Very similar journey and exactly the same check list that I have set for myself. After 3 years of owning and selling Omega Speedy, Aqua Terra, Hamilton and now my Mark 16 I have finally realised that the OP 36, a watch I wanted right at the start of my collecting, is actually the perfect one watch.... I'm very slowly saving for one and will get the black or of I'm lucky, the green model... this may take several years, but as you yourself have shown, it is a perfect watch. It really is.....I will always keep my G Shock 5600E as my outdoor exercise or gardening watch but the OP will be a total keeper. Thank you so much for the encouragement If I could improve anything, it would be to add a tudor t link style micro adjust, and make the black dial a lacquer one with no sunburst, like the Stella style dials, or the dial of the Explorer 36.... but that's just nit picking

  • @gkimmyreviews

    @gkimmyreviews

    Wow, yeah my thoughts exactly! I love the sunburst but do image how it would have looked with a deep black glossy dial. An on the fly micro extension on the clasp would have been awesome but the easy link is very handy as well. Hopefully they contact you for your piece soon!

    @@gkimmyreviews I really hope they do too! I doubt I'll get a call for the green dial, but the black....I think I have a chance at getting that. To be honest, I'd be happy to buy from grey market if prices calm down and I can find one for 6k for example

    @@Valera_ScotlandI'm on the list since last Friday for a silver one. They reckon I could have it before Christmas. I said I'm in no hurry because I wanted it for my 40th in the summer anyway so I'd prefer to get Christmas out if the way, a few home improvements in the early new year and then buy the watch in the summer. To tell the truth if you don't have the money I wouldn't save up. By time you save up the money the watch will likely be even more expensive at retail. Most jewellers offer interest free credit on watches. Defo on omega they do, and other watch brands like cartier and breitling etc. In my country I think Rolex is one of the few brands they don't offer interest free credit. The interest is something like 15% I think. But of course it's just as easy to blast on an interest free credit card and pay it off at your own pace from that.
