The way you edit drums and samples in real time on the MV really made it ahead of its time. I’ve been thinking of adding an SP along side it. Everything about this video was dope bro. The beat, the camera angles, the editing….

I was used to the MPC workflow when I bought mine in 2007, and it does have a real cognitive learning curve but, once you explore and pracrice with it in depth - it becomes second nature and you will appreciate and begin to love it. It's truly designed for the beat maker, producer, arranger, and engineer, and you have to have the aptitude/attitude and be scientific with it. I love till this day, man. It's a feature rich unit all under your finger tips...

It definitely has a steep learning curve, especially if you’re used to the MPC workflow. That being said, I’m enjoying learning and exploring it

It was my first piece so I don’t know any different. I’ve actually had a hard time going from the MV to and MPC I read the manual a few times so that helped. The real sauce is in the MFX and the Mastering section

I realized a long time ago with the triton studio that everything would be touch screen. Props. I just feel like the iPad and iPhone trump the older ways as far as options and transportation wise.

Nice! MV8-VGA and what other device and app did you use to add it to the screen? I just got an MV8000 with a vga card on it, i gotta fix alotta buttons on it (LOL i have to use vga mode to turn it off)

Great vibe on this one boss!!✊ I know you have the MP 5000 as well..if you could only have one, would you keep the MV or the 5K?

Thanks a lot! Hmmm interesting question, there are some similarities between the samplers but also some big differences in how the sequencer is designed. I’m more comfortable on the MPC5000 (since I’ve used it much more over time) so that’s probably the preliminary answer. I’m loving learning the MV now though.

Thank you for the response sirr, much appreciated! The learning curve must be somewhat steep coming from an MPC mindset smh? My 2000XL has been freezing more often and I'm not sure whether I should attempt to fix it or upgrade and come out of the stone age! 😂

Not my taste, but take care of the unwanted static of the turntable...its in your recording. Later in the audio process your mixing/mastering enigneer will thank you for that. The MV machine is a beast on steriods. Search for the right formule to get thosr drums/percussion fatter. It is possible with ease if you know your MV tool. Keep doing your thing and improve your skill.

It’s a great machine with lots of functionality for sure! I hadn’t enabled the phono ground switch on the turntable, hence the noise. Thanks for checking it out!

@@phdiracman forget him. I have the AKAI Force, MPC X and the Machine...none of them are as easy to use as my MV-8800. STILL hate Roland to this day, especially after the MV-1 came out

@@anticssmantics8446 in same boat fam. i find myself going back to the MV consistently and the force has so much power and unique things to do with it but i feel i have so much to learn and crazy enough.... i think MV does it better with vga out and just enough text based menus. The modern stuff with touch screen and so many things to touch and go thru to me is counter intuitive. go figure!
