However, if you live in California, New York, or most States historically run by Democrat Governors you need to make twice that just to pay taxes on goods and services. A person making $15 per hr in CA will be living in their car. 2) The Democrats love to talk abt a minimum wage increase during campaign season, but they had the majority in both the Hse, and Senate and the White Hse and suddenly minimum wage increase talk turned into voting rights, and abortion rights talk real quick. And while talking about voting rights, and abortion rights both parties led by Joe Biden are sending billions of dollars overseas to fund wars escalated by the US Govt. 3) Thanks to the massive inflation brought upon us by mostly the Dem Hse majority, and Democrat Party Governors pushing COVID crisis mandates and lockdowns on Democrat governed cities and States the rising cost of groceries and gas makes working a minimum wage job impossible to keep. Folks might as well apply for welfare benefits than to work a 9 to 5 job making minimum wage. That's as close to slavery without saying the word Slave. And 4) The rising cost to pay workers will force small businesses to go bankrupt, and big corporations to thrive. The more businesses have to pay their employees the higher the markup they have to charge their consumers just to make a profit.

I beg to differ Roland, it's all greed that rent is so high. My brother in law has a small home he's renting out...he refuses to rent it to his son because he knows he can get 3000 a month for it. He's greedy like all landlords...because they can get what they want. After the housing crash it was predicted that people were going towards renting rather than buying. And coupled with lack of building of rental units. But in fairness our elected officials aren't doing anything to address the situation.
