The split button enables you to split the keyboard at a place of your choice, enabling you to play two different sounds at once. ie a synthesizer or bass sound on one part of the keyboard and a piano or strings on the other🎹

Hello, pls what Cakewalk program you use??? I can buy Music Creator 7...its a good program for this keyboard?

Will this work automatically with Pro Tools and Ableton Live? Or do we need to map everything manually?

Hello Rob please explain midi mapping and control surface you used ........I have bought A500 pro and I got Studio one software too...but I was unable to assign all knobs and sliders..please explain midi setting procedure...I will be very thankful to you... ......

My A300 is not connecting to anything, Its LED shows but nothing is showing up in Logic nor when I midi it via Irig o my iPad. Its dead.

how do you use the transpose?

Got this model a week ago, absolute nightmare to install, now every time I quite logic and start again the Roland has gone, re installed 3 times, same problems. nightmare.

Thadnill 2.9 kg or 6lb Yes light enough to transport about in a kit bag.

Yes it comes pre mapped for Fl studio.. You can buy my keyboard if your interested!

Guess awhile ago, wondered if you ever met any mods on these as jut bought1 wiv cuplaExtBatteries(assumed4midiDinPeriphPowerCablingOr)but turn on,no daw,stops at MidiCH1,lowerKeys(possSome1zFactResetIt postMod!)bit0mess but maybe catch ?

Rob, can I ask you a question? I read out there that the midi keyboard seems unable to transmit data midi through its 5 pin midi port, when it is also connected via USB. Could you confirm that it is? Apparently, it does not allow to use the midi port being plugged into USB.

@@polymitosis My Roland A-300 always sends data to MIDI Out, whatever I plug into its USB.

I also bought this years ago through the online gaming company I used to work for, I have given it to my elder brother ^_^^_^^_^

The Roland A-300PRO / A-500PRO / A-800PRO sustain pedal only works on the active part (lower or upper).

Keyboard-related settings are collectively called a "keyboard set". You can use A-PRO Editor to make keyboard set settings and store them to the SPLIT/DUAL/LOWER buttons. Parameters are: Upper part octave, Upper part MIDI channel, lower limit of the Upper part, Lower part octave, Lower part MIDI channel, upper limit of the Lower part, Transpose, Active Part (specifies the part to which the VALUE knob, BENDER, MODULATION, AFTERTOUCH, HOLD and EXPRESSION will apply).

So the Roland A-300PRO/A-500PRO/A-800PRO can store up to three keyboard sets. The UPPER button cannot be programmed.

The Roland (Cakewalk) A-300PRO, A-500PRO, and A-800PRO all have the same exact control surfaces and abilities, just a different number of actual keys.

Is it a synth or have synth sounds?

My dear, it works well with all Windows Version and MacOS.

No this keyboard has no sounds it is a midi controller only. the sounds come with studio one..

Hi you said at 2.11 that it has a piano sound. Please tell me Is that correct?

Seems questionable to me to only have 32 keys and then have that massive panel on the right hand side taking up all that space. I'd rather have three octaves or get rid of the panel and move the mod controller to the top to save length space. Having only 32 keys yet considerable length is the worst of both worlds. I was considering Novation's launchkey 37, but it is 0.5 cm longer than it needs to be for my current needs, unfortunately, being on the lookout for something I can pack in a hand luggage. This could have been the next best thing, were it not for all that waste of space.

Roland A-PRO Windows 10 driver, manual installation: Go here: catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/home.aspx Once there search for "ROLAND A-PRO". There are two drivers. The one sized 444 KB is for x64. The other for 32 bit. Download it and unzip. Then go to Device Manager and find your device. Click the Driver tab, then Update Driver and select Browse My Computer for Driver. Select the .INF file from your unzipped download file.

You need to change the driver from "advanced" to "off" and then restart the keyboard. It's on page 65 in the manual: static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/A-300PRO_500PRO_800PRO_R_eng10_W.pdf . I had the same problem with my Roland A-88, was driving me insane since Rolands customer support is nauseatingly bad. Setting up accounts, registering products just to ask a question and having to wait for an answer that doesn't tell me anything...infuriating. Why they won't write this in the shitty zip file that they provide on the driver download page is beyond comprehesion.
