Rohith Vemula Was Not A Dalit, Says Telangana Police In Closure Report | English News | News18
Rohith Vemula, a University of Hyderabad (UoH) PhD scholar, was not a dalit, a closure report submitted by the Telangana Police has concluded. that he was not a Dalit and his caste certificate was “fabricated”. The Telangana police on May 3 submitted a closure report in a case related to the suicide citing “lack of evidence”. The report said that he might have taken the extreme step because of his fear that his “real caste” would be exposed - that he did not belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community but the Backward Class (BC) community.

It is a shame that the compromised officials have criminalised him even in his death. No investigation has taken place at all against any of the accused. Their logic is by falsely claiming that Rohit was not a Dalit, there is no case left to prove
