I am from Santa Fe, New Mexico. When I returned home after college in 1975, Roger Miller lived just outside of town, by Glorieta Pass. Sometimes he would come into the Forge Lounge at the Inn of the Governors Hotel in Santa Fe. He would often drop in and sit-in on the stage, playing many of his hits. He would do this for fun.....no money. And my friends and I loved hearing him. Rest in Peace Roger.....you are a total Santa Fean in my book.

When I was a kid I was able to see Roger Miller's at the county Fair. He was walking through the fairgrounds right past me. I was so in awe I just stared as he walked by. He was close enough I could of touched him. I couldn't make a sound.
