@@TvRFReloadedi know, my friend.. they skipped so many good points. To think these GS channels have these matches in such good quality and just holding out.. Roger is retired..all his matches should be made available to the public now, they should be considered a collective good gor everyone to enjoy. Same goes for Rafa who will be done this year.. I really hope they start uploading their past GS matches at a faster pace. They started to do so, but very timid so far.

4:46 The funny thing is this happened in their AO 2018 match too but Federer was the one who challenged.

You can see (despite this poorly compiled highlight package) why Berdych was a difficult opponent for Roger especially before Roger’s racquet switch. Berdych was a clean striker of the ball, took the ball early, had a great serve and a very durable backhand. In general, he had a very complimentary game to Roger’s style and this match makes it clear why Roger should’ve made his racquet switch from 90 sq in to 98 in 09. Roger was being manhandled in the first 3 sets from the baseline and was indeed lucky to win this match. No wonder Rafa just slaughtered Roger on his backhand side as the only real weapon Roger had was his slice. It took him 5 years before he could reduce the shank on his backhand and the larger sweet spot gave him the ability to negate powerful shots back with power. IMO, Roger would’ve been at 25 slams at least had he made that switch around 08-09. He could’ve really capitalized on the lost opportunities till 2014. Oh well.

Day by day one think I am realizing watching highlights that Roger was the most technical player ever to play this wonderful game. What kinda level of tactics and techniques he had with those he fought with Nadal and Djokovich with domination in his prime. Prime Fed was a beast on hard court.

2009 Federer was past his prime. And Djokovic is in fact the big 3 member who faced the most opposition and competition. But I agree that Federer is a legend in his own right and there's no one else who can replace him. Maybe there will be future players who can replace Nadal and Djoko in terms of playing style and level, but not Federer.

I watched this match from start to finish, from around 11pm until 4-5am. My heart skipped beats many times during this match. Berdych broke Federer's serve and nearly his soul until the first two sets and the first few games in the 3rd set, but Federer's resilience made my jaws drop. His roar in the 5th set after the crucial break in the 3rd game (not shown in this highlight) sent chills down my spine. It still does.
