Top 5 Times Roger Federer Destroyed His Opponents ● Making Grown Men Cry (Probably)

Спорт

Nick Kyrgios once said Roger Federer makes his opponents feel like they don't know how to play tennis. In this video I show you 5 times Roger completely dominated his opponents. Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray Mischa Zverev and Gaston Gaudio.
Kyrgios 0:00
Djokovic 0:14
Nadal 3:32
Zverev 7:21
Gaudio 10:40
Murray 13:17

In full flow there has never been anyone even close...Nick was right when he said you just feel helpless...the demolition was ruthless and those who think Federer was still in his prime past 2009...well look at the difference in the power and movement...the only reason he was still a competitor was because his prime was just miles above anyone else...

100% correct: when he hit his peak tennis (2004-2009, again for 3/4s of 2017, and in sporadic bursts in between) he achieved a level only he was capable of reaching. The utter domination during his 230 straight weeks at No 1 is some proof of that. He was faster, more powerful and more daring during the 2004-2009 period, but I think he actually played his best all-round tennis in 2017.

While i also think Fed has had the highest peak, his "god mode" lasts beating Novak and Rafa in best of 3 matches and leading 2-0 in sets or 1-1 with a break in the third , but then he suddenly drops, on the other hand Novak and Rafa can play at their peak for ~4 hours(Novak is famous for starting kinda slow in the first set). Also comparing 2006 Fed to 2015 Fed for example, sure younger Fed is faster and has more consistent and lethal Forehand but his backhand is much worse(He used to slice ~60+ % of his backhand shots which ofc wouldnt work against Novak & Rafa especially on slower courts), had lower first serve percentage(he added the slice serve during Annacone years which upped his first serve percentage by 3-5%) and had less variety(started using dropshots more often 2009 and after)

There has never been and there will never be another who plays tennis with this level of brilliance and genius. I think the GOAT debate is meaningless, but for sheer joy in watching something that is this beautiful, this astonishing, Federer is in a class of his own. And I agree with HeisenbergR’s thoughtful comment below. The beauty includes his comportment during and after matches (with v rare exceptions). Went to Indian Wells and saw Federer many times. I stayed after every match, all of which included at a minimum quite a number of moments of this caliber of play, but I stayed to see him sign anything and everything that any child who came down to the courtside asked him to sign. Adults, too, but the emphasis by far was on kids. Very few others saw this, so if it was for PR (other than in a very literal sense of “relations”), it’s hard to see how. Just another special aspect of his greatness.

4 of 5 times were at atp finals, so against one of the best 8 players of the world those years. But if it isn’t enough, 3 of these 4 times were against djokovic, nadal and murray… and if anybody needs to remind it, don’t worry, djokovic also received a 6-0 treatment from Roger in Cincinnati final 2012… do you need something else to learn anything about GREATNESS? Because I grew up learning from him live and I miss him and dreaming because of him too much

I think you chose the wrong Halle Zverev match. Mischa was a journeyman player so him getting double bageled by Roger was not exactly a shocker. You should have chosen the 2017 finals thumping of Sascha. He was so rolled that in the press conference after the match he whined, "Roger as messin' with the ball." LOL!

I have t he feeling (no inside info) that Federer like to put on a good show for the crowd and, if an opponent cooperates, he can join in the project and the Fed will take it easy. HOWEVER, once he takes it a bit easy, the opponents think, "Oh, I think I see a weakness and I'can overpower him! Oops. Maybe not.
