rod tang is so dominant in muay thai bc just like guys such as rico or alex pereira, he implements techniques from boxing and makes it effective. such as footwork and you can see in this clip not to mention his punches are thrown very crisp

@@markmessi9020 I agree boxing footwork is most complicated and boxers use footwork the most bc they don’t have to worry abt kicks but I think what he meant to say is that footwork techniques are not exclusive to just boxing, if you use pure boxing footwork in Muay Thai, kickboxing, mma your gna stand heavy on the lead leg and it’s gna be rly rly hard to check kicks and your gna get your legs absolutely destroyed, you have to combine footwork techniques from boxing, Muay Thai/kickboxing which is rly difficult tbh
Its called rhythm step, terrible mistake from boxers and kickboxers, muay thai doesn't have that problem since you're always bouncing and shifting weights between front and back foot.
@grantbrysacz1668

depends on the situation, if you’re looking to counter it’s ok to stay heavy on your back foot, if you’re looking to move then you’re right: you stay on your toes to move around

Even when Rodtang is going 2% his movements and technique are so fuckn clean

It's awesome watching the movements of elite fighters, Rodtang looked so smooth there.

Always good to film yourself and then watch back at half speed . You'll pick up all sorts of things. Also practice everything slow at first . If you can't do it slow there's a good chance you're off balance and using speed to cover it . Bad habits come easy but can be very hard to get rid of.

Exactly brother! I danced for years (hip hop, salsa, etc) and I use my dancing footwork in MMA and Boxing every day!!! It may not be by the book but it's my style and martial arts is, art! Having such unusual footwork allows me incredible balance and power from all angles, and it allows for a ton of set-ups, traps and improvisation!!! Bruce Lee: RARA

what I like most about the Thais isn't the brutality that wow'ed me when I was younger. It's how at the top level there's this emphasis on efficiency and economy of movement thats graceful at times.

He noticed more problems than foot work. Staring at your opponents feet , the right arm all over the shop, jab with little purpose or power ..
Rodtang is the man!!!!!
Pretty cool
funny that rodtang telegraphed on the second kick
It takes insane core strength to move like Rodtang right? So effortless
He's right though I see it too. It's a sort of extra step. 😅
I can see it miles away as well, keep evolving!
One of Terence Crawford's trainers holds pads for him but keeps an eye on Bud's feet. He corrects him when Bud moves wrong or loses balance
Rodtang is the coolest
He looks like a CAF ufc 4 fighter
I mean leg feints be payin dividends in ufc. O malley, Izzy’s reign. They’re also god tier strikers
The reason is because you can tell you are about to throw a kick or telegraphing a kick
