I still think Haggerty won the first fight. But oh boy did Rodtang make a statement in the second. 2 of my favorite muay thai fights of all time. Love these guys

@@zhouxiadong3673 Samart, Somrak, Silapathai, Karuhat, Hippy, Wangchanoi, Namkabuan, Kongtoree, Weerapol, Sagat, Lakhin, Namsaknoi, Dieselnoi, Chamuakphet, Samson Isaa , Lungsuan, etc. Are either of these guys on their level? Not even close. The Golden Age of Muay Thai is a stretch from about 1982 to 1995 or so, and is considered to be stacked with legendary fighters and skill sets that pretty much no longer exist today. Even Karuhat said Rodtang wouldn't eveb be able to touch someone like Weerapol.

I did an analysis of the full unedited match , Haggerty would have won in my opinion. I was a Muay Thai as well as American Kickboxer and have competed in Shidokan Triathlon Tournaments... I have also been a Referee as well as Judge for over 75 fights... Haggerty won in my opinion

thais take it easy on first 2 rounds in a 5 round match. rodtang didn't begin to release combinations until the third round. at that point jonathan started running around. jonathan looked good first 2 rounds because rodtang wasn't engaging yet, haggerty's moves werem't damaging. 3rd round til 5th when rodtang begins to unleash combinations and soon as haggerty tasted the pain he started running running away and so rodtang got frustrated and told him a few times to come forward and engage as it's a belt fight. One doesn't score round by round, but how you play the whole game. can't win the belt by running around and avoiding toe to toe. he was scared to engage with rodtang the moment rodtang released combinations

when the third round rodtang says, now my turn

Same. I don't understand the judges decision, but I also usually watch MMA and not Muay Thai so I'm not as familiar with the scoring.

@@CS-ob7pg haggerty won the rounds 1 and 2, the others were to Rodtang. The multiple sweeps, as well as haggerty taking a count were huge points to rodtang. As well, haggerty’s striking slowed down and he was mostly on the defensive after round 3, constantly being backed up. Amazing fight to both, haggerty was more technical with cleaner combos. But rodtang’s heart and power got him the win

No way man. He did amazing and I think he brought home the first 2 rounds but 3,4 and 5 were Rodtang’s. Haggerty also went flying to the canvas and got counted and that makes a massive difference in terms of scoring

Haggerty is nothing compared to Rodtang. The first 2 rounds Haggerty looks good because Rodtang was started in 3rd round 😂 Watch their 2nd fight and see how if Rodtang started from first round 😂😂😂 If they met again in 3rd fight, Rodtang will make Haggerty's liver become porridge 😂😂😂

Rothand is weak, muaythai legends don't spare his opponents and beat it. Too soft this fighter to be a muaythai legend....

Rodtang won this one because he took a little more hard blows from John and this is what the Judges saw.. One don't need to be a blood born Muay Thai or even a warrior of any fighting style to see that's the real deal.. Johnathan have the skills but in the end Rodtang out tough and out skilled and won the match... That's the fact..

Muay thai needs better footwork and it should have more grappling

Just think, you need balance and you need to be ready to check and give kicks, you can't have the same footwork as in boxing

@@kayjay8077 because it's not boxing, you can't apply Thai boxing techniques with boxing, you can change styles but can't incorporate styles. Boxing requires you to be lower, in Muay Thai you stand tall.

@@kayjay8077 it has a bit of grappling, according to its rules, if you want real grappling, learn wrestling/bjj but you still won't be able to use it on the ring. Doesn't make it less effective, Muay Thai is very potent and even holds an edge over boxing
