Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! I Felt nostalgic for my youth when I first discovered how to navigate the Internet, back in the day numerous companies would produce stylized websites and game demos. These would be highly more "personal" than the advertising of today and I just wanted to go back and relieve that! Thanks for watching!

@@VikingTeddy Couldn't have been in '95, but it is possible you are remembering playing Payback on the Amiga, that was the first ever GTA clone. Never played the Amiga version myself, but have the GameBoy Advance port which is basically the same gameplay wise. Though even with the camera more zoomed in, the GBA version runs at like 13 FPS when things are calm, but explosions or using the helicopter can drop it down to like 2 FPS. Still amazing it works at all though: a 3D open world with physics engine, lighting, and partical effects on the GBA is crazy!

I missed if Mutahar mentioned this but: The original developer of GTA was DMA Design and the first game was published by BMG Interactive. In between the first two games, BMG Interactive was sold off to Take-Two who then created the Rockstar brand under which the GTA Franchise was placed. DMA Design did not become part of Rockstar until after GTA3 when they were bought out and renamed to Rockstar North.

GTA 2 was my first PS One game, I remember being 4 or 5 years old and playing GTA 1 and the GTA London 1969 expansion when we used to visit my cousins every summer. Good times man.

Chinatown wars was absolutely goated, It makes me wish there was a port of the PSP or even the mobile version at the very least on PC. But the dream woul be to have a proper remaster with a switch port just as I bit of a call back. Thankfully I still have my DS cartridge, so that'll do for now. (I know there's emulation but I want proper mouse and keyboard/controller support)

The actual struggle of watching Muta trying to run these old games on a modern PC hits home HARD. There are specific games from Windows 98 era that are extremely difficult and some that have easy fixes from a quick PCWiki search. For me it was getting good old Need for Speed 2 Special Edition and 3 Hot Pursuit. Idk what changed between the 1997 and 1998 releases of those games, but my experience with getting 3 to run on my Windows 10 64 bit machine was 10 times easier than it was for 2. I even made a video on how to make those games run on "modern" machines a few years ago, but with NEWER OSes with their constant updates as well as 10's, who knows if my guides can work for *every* device. It's not a 100% guarantee Edit: Windows 95 for NFS 2 SE because NFS 3 came out in the fall of 1998 after Windows 98's summer release. Duh I guess, but I think another detail, NFS 3 MIGHT be a 32 bit program? Whereas NFS 2 is definitely a 16 bit program whose errors I had to find workarounds for

5:19 I was so excited for GTA when it came out on PC. I had already spent HOURS playing the hacked version of the demo. I was also a kid in middle school and I knew that if I asked my mom for a game called "Grand Theft Auto" that she would instantly say no. I rode my bike a total of 10 miles that day to get to the local mall and back. I spent all the money I had saved up to buy it the day it came out. I took the game out of the CD and threw away the box so my mom didn't find out. Ha ha... Such a good time.

You know, going back through these old GTA sites and then the older games. It made me consider a couple of things I missed in older GTA titles that GTAV doesn't have. And that is the little bit of silliness to the games. From either the ragdolling of GTAIV or just the spastic movement and animations of the PS2 era GTAs.

I remember back when I was a kid and the PS2 version of GTA finally came out that I hounded my father for weeks until one day he brought me to the Superstore where he brought me to the game isle where GTA 3 was. Its still a great memory to think back on that he probably heard about some of the stuff you could do in the game and I guess he wanted to see it for himself.

Speakin of sick websites. the GORILLAZ had a sick website back during their 1st and Demon Days eras. interactive AF! and mad lore about the band (well the fictional side of them) but it was still dope.. as a kid in elementary/middle school. held my attention for hours for days loved that site lol (how the lil girl ended up in the band is kinda sad but funny at the same time.. she showed up in short, in a box on their door learned guitar and never left lol. 1st who ships a kid to some strangers in a studio castle in a FKn BOX 😂
