I deeply appreciate your tips on getting wiser and learning more. I also appreciate when you write what you find, and your explanations. For me that is worth gold as I hardly know anything although I always pick up rocks whenever I’m outdoors. Keep the explanations coming as to how you know a rock is that rock, and not anything else. If I can make a request, show us your best finds ever and share your dream destination to go rock hunting and your dream find.

Nice finds, Nate. That Jasper Boulder is killer. I hope you were able to cart it home. I would love to see it displayed! It's always a nice peaceful escape to go with you along the gravel beds and streams. Wildlife keeps us humble. They are always smelling, hearing and seeing you. Never forget that. But, it's so easy to slip into that wandering wonderland mode when rock hunting. that is why I like rockhounding. Caught up in the beauty of creation.

I have also found those same rocks with the rust like patterns in an area in southern New Mexico, in Las Cruces. They came from a huge Arroyo, which is where water drains through and flows so very fast during our rainy season. I am sure you already know what they are called, I have seen you on many quests in the desert there. My mind is blown when it comes to those rocks you call landscape rocks. I wonder if it is some kind of rust stains that happened curing the lava melting period and it cooled so slowly that it basically stained the rock with rust from nearby copper and metal type minerals. Just a thought?

I get so engrossed by your videos. When you show the close ups and then zoom in even closer, I move closer to the tv and try to see down into the holes from a different angle. 🤣 I caught myself doing that a couple times. Then I had to laugh at myself. 😁
