    Hi EyeSeeYou 33, we appreciate your inquiry into these amazing sounding components. It was actually a trifecta: 1) The developer for the custom crossover coils would no longer produce them. 2) The cost of the crossover was exceptionally high and difficult to manufacturer 3) The sell-through wasn't high enough to warrant the continuation. We still produce the T4 component system which has very close matching Sound Quality characteristics. You can find info on the T4 component system here: rockfordfosgate.com/products/selector/car-speakers/

    You can use any of the following speakers in the door location of a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Pickup Crew Cab: P165-SI, T16-S, T2652-S, T3652-S, or T4652-S. So, yes they would be a good fit, but you'll need to build an adaptor plate since some of the system do not include one.

    I noticed really talk much about the T3 at all. I had to purchase it after purchasing a set I see why. I’ve got T3 and T4‘s T3‘s I do not like at all actually took them back out and put the tea ones back in. Had them running on a JL audio G 6600 amplifier T4 sound amazing but the T3 I’ve got nothing good to say about them except the packaging is the best in the buisness!. The T5 I have 2 of the crossovers but both are missing the wiring harness and ones missing a remote. I can’t seem to get them anywhere they stopped making them and that was that

    Hold up we got T3 4 and 5 power series speakers????!!! I didn't know this 😂 I got the T2s in the doors and running a 1st gen T2 15 D2 silver cone "2004" models it's on a Taramps HD3k and gets 3kwrms daily no probs at all no smell no getting hot. It's ridiculously loud hits hard ect. It's 17yrs old and I can float things in the windows it flexs my 2010 VW CC Turbo Sport. I got vids of it on the basshead life Facebook group and the Rockford Fosgate group on Facebook and Instagram. Y'all make some of the best quality subs ever made. Talking power series lol. The P1,2,3 idc for I had em all back in 07 / 08 era when I had my T2 12"s installed and done a smaller build in my other jeep I ran the P1 15" black cone red basket it was horrible.. the P2 was decent the P3 was good.. but the T2 powers where incredible and I still got em and got the T1s 10" 12" 15"s iv bought over the years and got in trades. And my daily is that 2004 model T2 15" D2 at 1ohm 3kwrms daily it's in perfect shape still stiff. It's insane. Y'all are amazing.

    @@rockfordfosgate always 💯 y'all are the best hands down. The original T1 and T2 silver cone woofers from 2004 are absolutely amazing and my favorite sub of all time. And still is to this day and I got a sundown Zv4 12" and Sundown Xv1 and Xv2 15"s and the skar Vxf 15"s and a bunch of Sundown Sav3 8"s and a couple Sav2 8"s and a few Xv1 8"s and two Xv3 8"s sitting in storage along with a couple HCCA 12.2s silver cones the ones from the early 2000s and a couple of diamond audio D9 12"s iv kept that I bought new and they are all sitting with my first T2 12"s that I bought yrs ago. And those are the reason I fell in love with Rockford woofers. Those two T2 12"s got me my very first 150+ DB score I got a 151 out of two T2 12"s on two Orion HCCA 2500.1ds so I got a personal deep connection with these particular generation T2 series. And why iv pretty much bought each one iv found up and traded for ect. Iv traded some really nice subs and amps for em over the yrs. And today even tho I got all those subs I run a Single T2 15" D2 silver face "2004 model gen 1" on that Taramps HD3000.1 D that gives 3k to 3600+ watts at 1ohm RMS. And that T2 takes it like nothing it doesn't get hot it doesn't smell bottom out ect Even after 17 yrs. It's never been rebuilt repaired in anyway. And it's still going strong. It's crazy that it performs the same or even better than most of today's woofers. Just means those subs where ahead of their time and y'all knew exactly what y'all was doing. Keep up the good work guys n Galz ;)

Reason I ask is because their amazing subs and mine have lasted 17 yrs now no issues or probs and they are definitely under rated at 1k RMS lol their amazing and ppl love em. It would be cool to see a new silver top T1 and T2 come out even if it's limited

    The T5 component system was very expensive to manufacturer. Unfortunately, the crossover coils were the most complex piece of the system and the part manufacturer would no longer produce them based on the quantity being sold.

    I still believe these are a midbass speaker and not a midrange speaker. Big difference and wonder why rockford went away from their true 3 way punch separates from the 90s. A true midrange unless you listen to just bass heavy music might be the most important speaker.

  • @rockfordfosgate

    @rockfordfosgate

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Kopr, midrange and midbass speakers *can* be one-in-the-same. If you have a driver with a low frequency response (typically under 200Hz), then it's just a matter of the crossover frequency used on the high-end side. Typically, a mid-bass speaker is designated to play around 100Hz - 400Hz, and a midrange is around 400Hz up to the tweeter crossover frequency. I asked our loudspeaker engineer about 2-way versus 3-way a couple years ago and his reason for developing 2-way systems was due to the complex phase response issues when using passive crossovers. Typically, a good passive crossover incorporates the filter itself, a zobel, and/or a conjugate filter to help compensate for impedance, amplitude, and (to a lesser degree) phase fluctuations. He mentioned how it's easier to "control" the phase issues in the higher frequency range because the wavelengths are shorter. In addition, tricks like a phase plug on the face of the tweeter help bring everything back to "normal". However, in the lower frequency range, the wavelengths are longer and can be more complex to handle. Also, since the frequency is lower, larger capacitor/coil values are required, making the crossover bigger. Not ideal for everyday installations in door panels. The frequency response of the Rockford Fosgate Power Series components explained in this video are shown below, making them great for use in both mid-bass *and* mid-range frequencies. Keeping things simpler, allow them to perform great and sound even more amazing! == Frequency Response == • T5652-S: 45Hz to 2.5kHz or 3kHz (Frequency Response = 45Hz to 30kHz, Woofer Crossover = 2.5kHz or 3kHz) • T4652-S: 40Hz - 3kHz (Frequency Response = 40Hz - 30kHz, Crossover = 3kHz) • T3652-S: 40Hz - 3kHz (Frequency Response = 40Hz - 30kHz, Crossover = 3kHz)

    @@rockfordfosgate Totally understand where the engineers are coming from. I guess my point is, is that's it's better to demand a certain frequency range from an individual speaker than it is to ask a single speaker to deliver the demands of 2 sets of frequencies. With that said do your crossovers utilize electrolytic capacitors or poly caps?
