there is not enough of people that would do this to hurt rankup. because the chance of it happening goes down the more matches you played. if you cant easily rank up out of your rank, your simply not there yet.

Let me just tell you that there are absolutely such a miniscule amount of players that are supersonic legends, let alone ones that are smurfing. When an account is smurfing and brand new, the player usually breezes through the ranks in a couple days and gets close to their normal rank. The odds of a platinum facing a supersonic legend are incomprehensible and ridiculous. For a grand champ 1 to play a supersonic legend (which is more common, but not expected) is extremely beneficial and is probably the biggest skill gap you'll ever see in ranked. If any plats reading this have ever actually faced a supersonic legend in ranked, let me know.
