Take the end cap off and add a tread sealer as there exposed bearings and water gets in to them if you do this and grease the axel they should be good enough for commuting and light trails, replace the pins anyway they sheer off easy

Are they not rock bros you took off? They do a set the same with a carbon fiber spindle i don't know if id trust any carbon peddles spindle let alone a Chinese one up knockoff brand

The amount of grease used might be the reason for the weight discrepancy.

With these pedals you need to make sure the inside are properly greased and the lock nuts have thread lock.

How is the condition of the pedal now? is it still good?

Hello, yes they're still fine..... although I should caveat that with the fact that the bike has had much use in the last year as I've mainly been road cycling.

Any update on these pedals?

Why didn't you grease the threads on the new pedal before installing?

No strong reason why I didn't. Personally I generally don't feel the need to. If the threads feel smooth and the spindles don't seem to have a very high iron content (eg less likely to corrode) then I don't. I don't tighten pedals that tightly either, as due to their reverse threaded design they won't undo during normal forwards pedalling. Excess grease can just attract more muck in this region of the bike. But ultimately, it's just a personal choice, no major harm either way.
