Rockaway Beach New York City: Beach Sessions Dance Series Merce Cunningham Beach Birds....🐦🐦
The residents of Rockaway Beach and visitors to the area were treated to the annual Beach Sessions Dance Series in Rockaway Beach, Queens, NYC. This dance series was founded and produced by Sasha Okshteyn. The series looks to produce and present site-responsive choreographic work on New York’s shoreline, expanding the boundaries of contemporary dance.
The dance series, along with so many other events and local organizations, has introduced the Rockaways as a promising place for artmaking and cultural events.

There should have been 5 times more dancers. But how could you possibly know so many people would turn out for an esoteric dance event? I'd love to see this restaged on Coney Island and around the world, on beaches.
