You are wandering around the station and looks like saying, 'Goodbye station, this is my last visit here, tomorrow, you are never gonna be here anymore.'

I miss the original Rochester station. but I have to admit that the new station is pretty awesome!

In my opinion, the new one is a lot better than the old one.

Interesting video, well produced. The captions regarding the modern signalling seem strange though. Commenting on that, it’s difficult to understand why the poster would seemingly still expect 1950s mechanical signals on a high speed line into the largest megalopolis in West Europe.

In a (old) station in the place i live are lifts now. Work started in 2009 and after some unexpected delays finished in 2014. Type of the lifts unknown.

nobody will miss that station. it's unconditional, unsafe, and un-reliable

Great video Beno. I had no idea the new traction system on the class 465s had improved it's acceleration so much. Good riddance to the old Rochester station though, a terrible place from a passenger's point of view.

They've built a new one which is better positioned as it is nearer to the high street. Looks nice but everyone will disagree;)!

I believe the real reason it was built was that the old Rochester station was actually sinking

+kriskolo2013 There are not many old trains left. The old trains that you can still see in England are... Pacer, Wessex, Bubble car, LU 1972, Clockwork Orange, and the amazing IOW 1938. Trains don't get preserved very well here. They often go into private ownership and are condemned to going 15 mph along a boring heritage line. Although London Underground do run there old trains at proper speed.

+Beno Old trains in Poland still in operation not on a heritage line are very common. But everyone hate them. We call them 'toilets' as they have toilets :D Most of these have been modded a bit. These are operating on rather short lines, on the long train lines there are faster trains with carriages (the 'toilets' are very old, but its the same type of train as electrostar). And there are also some newer trains, but the old ones are the most common.

+Beno There's only one underground system in Poland - the one in the capital city, Warsaw. There you can find some new Alstom Metropolis and Siemens Inspiro trains, but the best ones are 80s Russian Series 81 trains. These are just very, very awesome. And looks like no one will modernized it or recall for years.

+Beno With the exception of the the Bubble Car (and the IOW tube stock) all the others on your list date from the 70s (except the 442s which are from the 80s). A notable omission to your list is the Intercity 125 (HST) which were built from 1976-82. These are still running 125mph (200kph) services although they are due to be replaced in the coming years. Some of these are moving, after refurbishment, to Abellio Scotrail who have the franchise until 2025.

Why does SE connect alstom motors (465/9) and hitachi(465 /0 and 1)motors together? After all the hitachi motors sound better..

The guy from Hitachi at slade green open day told me that the motors are rated to accelerate faster, but the Hitachi VFs are accel limited to match the accel of the older VF trains so that they can work together.

I like most of Southeastern's stations because they all seem sort of neglected in a way, and they often have a lot of their old fixtures that many TOC's would have gotten rid of. But when it comes to running trains, they are crap.

unlikey to be sparks these have disc brakes and 3rd rail arcs are brighter and the shoe gear is not fitted on that carrage its probably just a reflection of lights
