That's absolutely not what it was poking fun at with RDJ's character. It was satirizing the arrogance of Daniel Day Lewis type actors who think they can play any role. If anything, it made fun of Hollywood for being racist because they casted an Australian blonde to play a black man rather than just hire a black man

I'm Black and while we aren't a monolith so I can't speak for every Black person but I loved RDJ in this role, and I feel like a lot of people missed the obvious satirical critique of Hollywood and actors overstepping boundaries - especially when so many of them are only great in those roles because they lack an internal confidence or identity. Like, his whole character arc was that he didn't know who he was and only after the failure and trauma of the role and the ensuing madness of that movie (in the movie) was he able to finally accept himself.
