He used to be very very shy in interviews, even when he accepted his Oscars. He's opened up a lot in his old age

He's bothered, u have to watch Letterman(4 one example) when Hoffman and Deniro were on together promoting the Focker stuff, and they ignorantly ignored Letterman, not professional or classy, if it was a "bit" it sure was sad, but Dave put up w/ their bs and should have gone 2 commercial and told them to get the f out. It's taped "live" and shown late at night, so maybe delete their entire appearance...they r there to promote a pretty ok set of movies, but a professional doesn't f up on purpose.

De Niro sucked off half of Hollywood. He doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence as Pacino and Nicholson. Hoffman is a sexual harasser so he can fcuk off too.

I would add Gene Hackman to that list, and he is the oldest of what are probably the best 5 ACTING talents since 1965.....just a thought !

The greatest actor to do it. The filmography De Niro has I think is unmatched. Dramatic roles, comedy, smaller roles (joker) thriller/horror, family movies and yes he even played Frankenstein and all done well.

The only filmography that's comparable (of his generation) is Nicholson's. You make a list of all the great movies those two guys were in and it's amazing. You could literally spend months trying to get through all the worthy films those guys are in (and almost always killed in).

It's absurd looking at his filmography. No other actor really even comes close. Godfather 2, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, The King of Comedy, Casino, Once Upon a Time in America, Awakenings, etc.
He also got an actual bus license for a bronx tale because in the movie he played a bus driver

Taxi Driver might be my favourite film ever. IMO the best character study put to film.
I've worked with a lot of actors over the years and many have said he was their inspiration. His approach to method acting and to the lengths he will take to get into character are amazing. As an actor, as a person, there are few of his caliber.

.......and a HUGE, HUGE improvement over his predescesor, who I don't miss A BIT. Fallon made the Tonight Show cool again, and I say this as someone who was totally ambivalent about the guy before he took over. His monologues are the best and most consistent of all the current late night guys, his rapport with the band is the best.....and he always looks stoned! :P

3:20 Imagine having all your friends laugh at you when you would tell them you swore De Niro once was your cab driver, only to find out now it was really him.
It’s crazy watching him in a movie like Casino or Goodfellas and then seeing him in this. His speech has really slowed down. Why must all the greats get older 😭 one of the best to ever do it.

I wish he would use one of these appearances to do Rupert Pupkin's monologue. Just come out cold at the beginning of the show and say that Jimmy's tied up. Better to be a king for a night than a schmuck for a lifetime!
