Very interesing, you have it about right. I do traditional witchcraft uk based in a coven. Been doing this a few years now. Doreen valiente was a local witch in my town so have heard of her from time ro time. She haz a foundation. Been in a few covens now, started in an alexandrian then a few others. Dont consider myself wicca. But traditional as started by cecil williamson mueseum of witchrraft in cornawall.

Shani Oates has republished Cochrane's work in her Star Crossed Serpent series of books. It's intiatory their tradition. What she learned was passed on directly from Roy, via the years she spent as Evan Jones's student and becoming the Clan matriarch. The CTTC is described by S.O as "unreservedly" Luciferian. Although other Trad crafters may practice differently. Her book Tubalos Green Fire is a lot about their tradition for those that are interested.

Ronald Hutton writes how Cochrane practiced what he and his peers called his "Grey Magic," which obscured any understanding of Cochrane himself. I think that means it's probably impossible to know whether Cochrane's own beliefs were Pagan or Luciferian. Thank you for helping to penetrate the veil of grey magic! 🌠

Loved this ⭐⭐⭐ I've been independantly/loosely, researching Cochranian tradition since the early 2000s. Based from my observations of it, Cochrane Craft started out Pagan and was under the Pagan umbrella for a while until sometime after Shani Oates became Maiden, and her clan started leaning towards Luciferianism and gained more Gnostic elements. There's a strong divide between the clans who consider themselves to be Pagan and those that call themselves Luciferian. In my opinion, from what I have read, it seems that both sides hold the same elements-Luciferian and Pagan. I guess it boils down to how the individual chooses to term themselves. Also in my opinion, the Cochranian tradition was never actually Wica but is a form of modern traditional witchcraft. Ok I rambled on enough Lol! Thank you for this great presentation ⭐

🌟Not sure why there is a need to categorize everything so tightly. Modern Paganism and witchcraft all share common heritage. Early Asatru seemed to borrow a lot from Wicca for a time. I have seen so much overlap between various traditions when attending everything from CoS rituals to Asatru blots to Wiccan festivals.

Another great video Angela. Thank you for all the work you put into bringing us this peer reviewed information regarding these occult systems. Ive been a fan of yours for a long time as well as justin and many others like Dan Attrell. I stay grounded in the light of esoterica academia , so the work you guys do is very important to me . An excellent video, I've been trying to study the work of Andrew Chumbley. It's interesting to see the development of syncretisms and the blending of Luciferian gnosticism and Paganism. In my opinion by the time this blend reaches Chumbley it has developed into a new kind of cosmology distinct from the Mother Godess and Horned God cosmology of Wicca and the Lucifer focused cosmology of the Luciferians. That is just my thought though, I hope to hear your thoughts on Chumbley's work one day.⭐

I have heard a bit about Cochrane, 1734, and other related matters over the years, but not as much "actual history" as what you covered here--so, thanks so much for answering many questions I've had about this! You also reminded me that I somewhat crossed paths with Dave Finnin at PantheaCon sometime in the late '00s (or perhaps early '10s), and what you've mentioned here makes much greater sense of it, and why I was talking with him in the first place. Everyone else I knew then seemed to know him and what he was about, but no one really explained it to me (even when I asked directly), they just kind of nodded and rolled their eyes and said, "Yeah, that tracks" when we discussed the incidents involved. Anyway...!?! Ethan Doyle White does fantastic work...he wrote the academic articles on the tradition I practice as well, and did a superb job with them, which I wish was something more people could say when scholars study their practices! (Though I'm sure it's more the rule than the exception, I've heard more about bad experiences in this regard than good ones, unfortunately.)

🌟🌟🌟I have to say that I am very interested in the hints I've seen around and about - and here - of a syncretism of sorts between Lugh/Lleu/Lugus and Lucifer occurring during the 20th century. Certainly something to consider in the history of neopagan witchcraft.

Considering that most prechristian religions had a morning star deity, there could be a pagan luciferian tradition that has little to no Christian influence. Although in modern times I think it’s very hard to escape that influence.
