Robert Adams Don't React

Disciple of Sri Ramana Maharshi, Robert Adams (1928 - 1997) was an American teacher of non-dualism, widely known among those investigating Advaita philosophy and among Western devotees of Bhagavan.
Adams stated that there was no new teaching, and that this knowledge can be found in the Upanishads, the Vedas and other ancient scriptures.

Adams did not write any books or publish his teachings, as he did not wish to gain many followers. Instead, he preferred to teach a small number of dedicated seekers.
His teaching was based on the path of jñāna yoga, with an emphasis on the practice of self-inquiry.
At age 16, Adams' first spiritual mentor was Joel S. Goldsmith, who helped him better understand his enlightenment and advised him to go visit Paramahansa Yogananda.
Adams did so and went to Self-Realization Fellowship, where he intended to be initiated as a monk.
However, after speaking with him, Yogananda felt that Adams had his own path, and recommended that he go to India to visit his true master, Sri Ramana Maharshi, but that he do so quickly, as Ramana was already old and in poor health.
Thus, Adams remained at Sri Ramanasramam for the final three years of Ramana's life. Over this time he had many conversations, and through remaining in his presence was able to confirm and better understand his own experience of awakening to non-dual Reality.
“For most people, to be happy there must be a person, place or thing involved in your happiness.
In true happiness, there are no things involved. It's a natural state. You will remain in this state forever.”
Robert Adams.
“The teacher is really you.
You created a teacher to wake you up.
The teacher wouldn't be here if you weren't dreaming about the teacher.
You have created a teacher from your mind to awaken, to see that there is no teacher, no world - nothing.
You did this alone.”
Robert Adams.
“The only burden you ever had in your life was your own mind.”
Robert Adams.

I am reacting to this video. I dont recognize this as Robert's words. This sound like an AI term paper. Weird. The photo is not Robert. The message is good, but this is not the way Robert communicated from my experience.

RA would have said it more precisely and succinct. Find that awareness in which there is no reaction and be that. It is your true Self.

I've noticed this more and more in the name of deceased wise ones, therefore we must listen with even more discerment as there are false prophets during end times now who may abuse ai.

I think he’s saying it’s a little annoying. Why various pics of the guy. I liked the words … this is gold to me - Zen but in Western language - my reactions are my biggest problem. There’s the outside reaction to anger and the inside reaction to desire etc.

@@SgtJackRose I understand your perspective! It's true that sometimes it can feel a little repetitive with so many photos, but the focus is more on the inspiring words and how they resonate with us, right? His interpretation of external and internal reactions is really profound. It's incredible how your words can transcend cultures and teach so much about self-knowledge and emotional control. Thank you for sharing your reflection!"
