Robbie Balenger Ran Across America on Plants | Rich Roll Podcast
Thanks for watching! Read all about Robbie Balenger here 👉🏼bit.ly/richroll480
This past year, Robbie ran 3,200 miles from LA to NY covering 40+ miles a day, every day for 75 days to promote the benefits of a plant-based diet.
I promised him a seat at the podcast when he finished. Today I honor that promise. It’s a great story, well told.
Enjoy!

I am trying to get past the 40 miles a day for 75 days. What in the hell are the limits for human beings. This is the most motivating video I have ever watched in my life. I am a 79 year old vegan runner. I just finished running an hour a day for 45 days straight. Thanks to this video, I took one day off and will be back at it today. Thanks for the motivation.

congrats to you! 👏🏼
"One bad day has no correlation to the next." So true, folks. We can all hit the rest button everyday. Peace.
You both are so inspiring! At 35 years old, I'm starting to run more than I ever have, and am really enjoying the challenge to get better and better. I've been vegan a year and love when "WE" show skeptics that a compassionate way of eating can also be super healthy and more than adequate for all, even athletes! Thank you for such great content, Rich! Robbie, I resonate with a lot in your journey, and thank you for having a public conversation! Keep the momentum, both of you! We appreciate it!
I said it once and I’ll say it again. Rich is just so great at bringing out the best in people.

I totally agree he's one of the best podcasters out there!
This guy Robbie is awesome! Running is the inverse of a drug. Great analogy.
I remember seeing him right before he crossed the Susquehanna River in Lancaster before work. Super inspiring
Beautiful interview and what a story of change and overcoming challenges.
This is incredible, LOVE you both! Truly impactful people, thank you for all the inspiration.
Love the message at 1:39:14 "There's a couple of things that make me feel full. One is direction, the other is community, and feeling heard."
Very inspiring story and a HUGE feat!

Awesome conversation. So much depth, so much to relate to --- even as a non-runner and much older generation! Plant based though. and that's the win win on all fronts :-) .
“It was an interval race. 600 times 5 miles.” Rich got me cracking up with his comments ! 😜
this guy is so relaxing to listen to....... makes me so happy to be eating this way, starting to run...... staying out of bs...... Blessings, guys. xoxoxo
What a nice guy. Great talk
Another great podcast/interview. Congratulations to Robbie! Thanks RR for your inspiration.
A lot of insight on knowing oneself on this incredible journey. Thank you both for sharing this empowering inspiring time capsule.
Loved this! Super inspiring!! :)
Great accomplishment and great interview, thank you.
Thank you for sharing another wonderful podcast. Was an amazing journey. 🇨🇦😎
Phenomenal story! Thanks Robbie and Rich!
So much love to you guys! Awesome interview, so much positivity!
Just mind blowing. You should be Knighted or something 😃. I know plant-based is not vegan necessarily, it’s just so far away from what we are conditioned to believe about having to eat meat if you’re an elite athlete.
Absolutely Excellent! Thank you!
Great session! So many of Robbie’s points and motivations resonated with me. When I went vegan 5.5 years ago it was an ethical decision, but environmentalism what a very close second. Health benefits were something that everyone seemed to talk about and that I thought would be cool, but weren’t a motivation.

AMAZING
I CAN'T WAIT TO FIND THAT ICE CREAM IN BROOKLYN ! hey I just looked it up - they sell it in the stores I use - I WILL BE EATING IT !
Dammit I'm so sad that I'm almost finished with this podcast. I don't want it to end.
Loved this one ☝️
Hahaha:D rich your john joseph impretion is great!
💗
I think Nayonnaise and the other vegan spreads have 100 calories a spoon , and it's real easy to eat a whole jar in a few minutes , and love it , so delicious !
These talks remind me of the book "The Dip" by Seth Godin, he talks about the goals we want to achieve in life but sometimes don't see that there's more time investment to make.
Sweet
Good Stuff! :)
I wish more people understood that plant based and vegan are not synonymous terms. Most “vegan” food is just as unhealthy as the SAD diet. Whereas whole plant based foods are actually the best for longevity and health.
I resonate with 14:00

Don’t forget to suck the fungus off those hematoma toes. Worship those size 13s!
So we'll all die fit and healthy and vegan...I love it...nothingness, nothingness, ye children of man, and less I count you waking or dreaming! And NONE among the mortals, NONE, seeking to live, hath won more than to seem, and to cease again from his seeming. Sophocles

Lol I took it as a joke (and got a nice chuckle from it) but I can certainly see where it would be taken differently.

@Nick Pascale I'm not autistic (I think) and took it seriously as well.... :-| --- Thought he was a mean troll tough.
eating plant based also harms many animals..insecticides harm everything..being a vegetarian i dont understand this mentality humans are dangerous to the environment they live in.. unless everyone starts walk in.. environmental crisis is coz of agriculture.. just so much i know it all in the podcast🤷🏽
If I run across America on only meat will you interview me Rich?
