Man, Benoit telling RVD that most wrestlers don't know when to leave.......It's sad. Because he was clearly talking about himself. (And possibly even Eddy Guerrero.)

But you need to remember every diving headbutt, concussion, the stuff he was on to understand that people are human beings, they have a life with its challenges and sometimes people fall farther than they ever could imagine, he had a life before 2007, so did Nancy, so does David who survived that and has to live with that today, I think he knows

@@rustlerv6549 its a touchy subject but i was just wondering why people show him sympathy based on his career up until that point? i think it was the dark side of the ring documentary about him were people said he put wrestling before everything else, and you can see that with how reckless he did wrestle with no regard for anything but himself. surely smashing your head of a ring weekly is going to come back in the long run, and it did.

The sad irony of this is. If Chris Benoit "knew when to get out" and retired from wrestling he would probably still be alive today along with his wife and child. It was the head injuries and the over working that made him go crazy

Hard to say. He had been wrestling since 1985 so the damage had been done. He worked that damaging style the entire time. Hard to imagine when he could’ve left and it making the difference. The difference in this acknowledgement is around this time he learned about the CTE issues and realized how much damage he’d gone through. Even if he’d left ten years before this he still spent ten or so years taking tons of damage to himself.

It's so weird to see people show so much respect to this lunatic. By all accounts, he was a twisted man with an awful dark side, which culminated in the worst that could have happened? Who gives a shit if he was technically sound in the ring?

I can’t be the only one who noticed the lady in the background with a bra and shorts on just casually making a drink the whole time Rob is talking and reminiscing about his conversations with a child murderer.

Not at all. He’s saying RVD knows when to take a break or remove himself out of wrestling for a time. Benoit and guys like him couldn’t separate themselves from wrestling.

It sounds like Benoit himself knew he needed a break, but he was too afraid to let go in fear of losing his spot.
