I've just ordered one of the hoodies, and I already have a pair of Paranoid jeans and a pair of gloves. The jeans are fantastic, and the gloves are soft and flexible. I'm looking forward to trying out the hoodie now the weather is getting warmer.

Good video, I'm not a hoodie fan or wearing only light gear on a bike, but it does seem to offer a good level of protection for urban low speed riding. Very good price for level of protection offered especially against other cheap brands offering only A protection and the more expensive brands offering AA protection. Looking forward for your conclusion.

Hi Bruce I now have one. Really nice. On a naked I found that better to remove the hood. Works well with a rain seal coat over the top for cold weather and rain. Cheers.

Just finished a weeks riding in Germany. 1030 miles in total. Due to the sudden increase in temperature, i ditched the textiles and just took the Roadskin Hoodie. Was perfect for riding around the mountains….. bit i’m not a fast rider. Its a great piece of clothing for the hot weather 👍

I've got the Easyrider 1 and wore it in Europe last summer with high 30/low 40C heat. Yeah it was warm at town speeds, but I suspect anything would be in those temps. Conversely, I've taken the armour out and worn it over an old Knox Urbane Pro in the last few weeks (lost a few pounds since I first bought it) and that combo is great from low teen digits C. The removable hood is cracking if you have a bike that causes airflow to drag on the hood and the jacket is easy to chuck in the wash after the inevitable covering of flies and road grime, coming out good as new. The new version looks cracking, some nice updates with the cuffs and overall fit. Thanks Bruce, this vid has reminded me of their jeans which also look great value for money with performance to match.

Their jeans are really good , I had a small accident while wearing them & slid down the road , some stitching came off the back pocket - no other damage to the jeans . I'll get one of their hoodies in the near future

Cheers Jonas, I’ve been wearing it since around November last year, absolutely love it. Still looks great, I’ve washed it several times and it still maintains the colour and size, it’s comfortable to wear on and off the bike, I even wore it on the plane when travelling to the Canaries - rode to the airport, parked the bike up and just got on the plane wearing it 👍

On my radar now - looked a bit of a cheap brand with all the Facebook marketing, but will have a further glance for summertime.

I must say this looks great, £140 is reasonable for something that is an alternative to a jacket. 🤔

Hi Bruce, as a fat old geezer myself, their is no harm in trying to look a bit less horrendous. The hoodie looks fine and is well priced.

They look good and solidly built but I'm not convinced they will be great in higher heat temps when compared with say a summer air mesh (or teabag) jacket due to no mesh and the waterproof liner. But I stand to be corrected. Soon as you get going above 30mph in a air mesh jacket you feel air flow. My airmesh was worth every penny when it hit 41c last year in the UK! Don't think this will perform as well. I also wear the Helite airbag jacket but it was just too hot to wear above 28c even with airmesh jacket and we all know heat fatigue can be more dangerous then less protective gear. Look forward to seeing the final thoughts 👍

Looks like decent gear from a decent manufacturer

I got one when they first came out last summer. I love it, but the only niggle is that I feel it's just a couple of inches too short on the body. I'm constantly feeling it's riding up my body and the worry is in an off it would pull up significantly at the front or side where the belt loop doesn't do much. I got a medium (I'm 6'2") and while bigger sizes are longer, they're not by much unless you jump up to XL+

Have you tried their jeans yet? Taranis elite and paranoid. I am on the bigger side myself so trying to find jeans in my waist size can sometimes be challenging especially considering my short inseam. Not very many reviews on the jeans on KZread. tons of user reviews on their website and now you’ve definitely sold me on the hoodie

Aye I’ve been wearing the Taranis for about 6 months now, love’m. I get slightly bigger in the waist (I’m more like a 40” waist but go for 42”) to fit my rugby playing thighs and calves, but otherwise the fit is great 👍

I don’t think I’ll do a specific review vid of it, just chat about it in various vids to come. I’ve been wearing it since last November and already worn in temps from -7 to +32 and it’s been fine. Wore it through security at the airport and on the plane to the Canaries without any issues from security, I’ve worn it in the pouring rain - the outer shell does saturate so you will feel the cold, but you don’t get wet. I’ve washed it and it maintains colour and shape… it’s just genuinely a GREAT bit of kit, I’m well impressed 👍

Another beautifully delivered review and I do love Ian and the roadskin team top people so I just know it’s a top product ☝️but how naked did you feel without your air vest ☝️😂

How about putting spandex or straps around the knees and ankles area. that way you can have baggy jeans but yet snug it up in areas that needs to be snug.

I still love it bud, just wore it out in Spain this week with my Taranis Jeans - perfect.

Bruce, for slow/urban riding, IMO AA is OK, but I wouldn't like to trust it for "proper" riding (check out what the AA spec actually gives you, it's not very impressive!). I myself ride in EN13595 Level 2 approved kit, and even the newer EN17092 AAA is lacking in comparison so I only ever recommend people doing "proper" riding stick with at least AAA rated kit only (any decent leathers should easily pass AAA but only a few textile brands do). It's good though that you're even mentioning the rating, almost nobody does and it's important people understand what they are buying with open eyes! :) BTW, for the larger boned/fat calved man (like me and you ;) ), I recommend the Resurgence AAA rated single layer jeans, they have a really nice stretch and comfortable fit, but still snug enough to keep the armour in place (I upgraded the amour to the new Ghost Level 2 from the L1 they came with). I only use them for short/local/urban journeys though, leathers or textile (as above) for "proper" riding... :) HTH! :)

Cheers Matt, I had a very enlightening chat with Ed Miles and multi-TT winner Mick Wynn about slide ratings and kit, over on my ‘Bru Time’ podcast channel. The ratings aren’t actually a rating of what max level of protection the kit is capable of - manufacturers submit their item of kit to a specific test, whether that’s A, AA, or AAA, and if it passes then it gets that rating, if it doesn’t then it just fails, then they have to pay to test again at the next lower rating. So for example if they submit a jacket for AAA testing and it just fails, then it won’t just get AA rating, it simply fails the test and the manufacturer would have to pay for another test at AA or A rating. So manufacturers generally got for AA rather than AAA as it makes more financial sense. As it is I don’t agree with your AA comment personally, I think it’s fine for most general riding other than track work. Obviously I’d rather have AAA rated kit, but the vast majority of my kit over the years other than leathers has been AA-rated, I’ve crashed quite a few times, and never suffered any abrasion injuries etc, it’s always been blunt trauma/breaks. @mattmutane5502 You are correct in being skeptical about EN17092 in terms of abrasion. The test is so lenient as to be laughable. The only abrasion test I give any credibility to is the Cambridge test. Whereas EN17092 tests on polished concrete (arguably similar to worn asphalt), Cambridge tests on OP60 sandpaper, roughly equivalent to top-dressed (chip seal) road surfaces in abrasive qualities. MOTOCAP is actually the only resource I trust to be unbiased. Much as I love the video presenter's style, he's not telling me anything useful safety wise and we don't generally choose kit based on it's look and style. Well, I certainly don't. I personally ignore EN17092 because it's a joke standard designed for textiles to pass at ludicrously low abrasion rates. In Cambridge equivalents, MOTOCAP has tested enough samples to produce some data for high risk zones: A= 0.4 seconds, AA= 0.7 seconds, AAA= 1.4 seconds (and up but we don't know how much because it's just a pass/fail). I crash test material samples myself and, despite what textile manufacturers would you like to believe, NOTHING comes close to double layers of thick cowhide (>=1.4mm thick). On roads, I still wear leather and an airbag but I don't ride much on roads any more. For off-road, I think a hoodie style, cut resistant jacket or sweater is a very good idea. What the heck is "Maximite"? I hate it when manufacturers hide their textiles components unless you buy it. I need material components in percentages. It's probably a knit nylon/polyester/UHMWPE blend which is not great for abrasion protection but decent for cut and tear resistance. Another problem is knit fabrics tend to grab on impact and cause tumbling. I'd consider adding leather overlays on the hoodie's elbows and shoulders to mitigate this somewhat. You want to slide not tumble which is a serious of impacts following the big one. Kudos to the presenter for wearing an airbag vest. That's smart.

Thanks for responding. MOTOCAP buys 2 garments for each garment test. One bought online, one bought in a retail shop. All purchased anonymously. This is a great idea because it avoids manufacturers gaming a test, similar to what could happen in a CE test then shipping a different garment with changed components. Yes, it is expensive. Due to their buying method, they can't buy kit not available in AUS/NS. When I did a big testing research project, I mainly used material samples and only one whole garment. This made it a lot cheaper because I only had to buy one garment (a Dainese Bora) and the sample were typically donated by manufacturers but I paid the postage. I don't have the funding that MOTOCAP does, unfortunately. I designed a motorcycle mounted rig to drop samples onto a road in South Vietnam - medium grade asphalt. The drop was from 1m high and the "slide" was 18m. (Drop to stop test). If a sample survived one drop, I'd repeat until the sample failed. My results were shocking because all textiles performed very badly compared to high quality cowhide. Typically, textiles didn't even survive one drop without holing. A good secondary layer, such as thicker kevlar or 3d mesh, would usually improve performance by 4x or more and survive one or two more drop tests for a total of about 30 metres. However, top notch race grade cowhide in 2 layers, survived 11 drops and an accumulated slide distance of 200 metres without failure. I tested cowhide samples supplied by BKS leathers and Hideout Leathers. @@mattmutane5502

I’ve not worn the Knox kit but I’ve worn the hoodie in temps up to 32 degrees so far. Was warm at those temps, but felt fine for me up to around mid-twenties. HOWEVER - keep in mind I wear a Helite Airvest over the top AND then my rucksack over the top of that - so that will inhibit a lot of airflow

How world you try one before buying? Ordering online is often problematic if you get the wrong size🤓

I’m a 50-52” chest and the 3XL fits me well. I’d usually go for XXL or XXL in tops if they’re available. Just drop them a line with your chest size and ask their advice bud 👍

Brother , teapot one , I was trying to reach you for a while, I have a BMW S1000xr , I want to install Innove K5 cam system on to it . But I don’t have any can smart , so was thinking of tapping the tail light with a possi tap , to connect the yellow cable for switch power , but some one from BMW bikes told me that this will cause the bike to give out error codes . Is it true? Or is it safe to tap the cable ? Or is there any other way to do it ? Please guide me .

What helmet do you have ??

Nice jeans but I just don't get on with mine, tried different versions but just to uncomfortable and no give around the crotch...and I after sending the jeans back for new sizes and trying a different style...I ended up spending over £100+ in multiple return costs as "no" free returns..and still not happy with the fit. DOn't get me wrong the Quality & technology is amazing...but unhappy and in the end cost me a lot of money and I still can't wear them.... Their gloves are nice and comfy and wear them all the time though. ;)

Another recommendation is the AAA rated Single Layer Resurgence jeans (as that's what I have for slow/urban/local/occasional use). Larger legged fit, but with stretch and snug, keeps the armour in place. :)

@ Max Steele Not 'high tech' but check out 'Hood Jeans' They are a bit 'heavy weight' so best worn with braces IMO. Made in the UK (The North West I think) but they will make the length whatever you want. Which was important to me as I'm a 'shortie'. Absolutely excellent company to deal with.👍

They don’t quite go big enough for me but then neither do most of the other manufacturers, my own fault for being a fat sod I suppose

It doesn't make any sense to me that you would wear something that could possibly hook on something causing further injury.

I wear a rucksack every time I ride - no issues. I’ve come off a bike at around 130mph+ and slid along the road whilst wearing a rucksack - no issues (well none caused by the rucksack… the mountain I fell down however wasn’t so kind). Whilst I understand your concern about a hood, I think it’s misplaced bud and nothing to worry about at all
