As funny as it is and as big of a douche Gordon is, he’s actually doing the right thing here. He’s been getting ready for 40 years old Vinny to compete at EBI so he’s been getting hammered in Hawaii, camping around U.S., pretty much started really enjoying the fruits of his labor of many years. Then Nicky Rod became a late replacement and really put him in check. That kind of reminded me of the whole Rocky 3 vibe. For a lot of us, being able to pay cash for a brand new Corolla and drive it every day is not a suffering. But for him is. As cringe as it is, the stuff he does work for him.

Funny. Those kids must have grown up rich. In another video he said his first car was like a 2013. Something. And neither of them ever worked and got to do jj all day. Those guys are a little out of touch with reality. Which is awesome for them as they got to live there dream. He’s a bad ass on the mad. But acts like a teenage rich girl. The fight ending in Pena's submission win was 6+ years ago, when their physiques and skills were very different. Playing this footage over and over doesn't make a present-day match likely to be close, and Pena does not have the skills, strength, or mental toughness to compete with Gordon in 2023. Gordon will win the February 25th fight easily and send Pena back to Brazil, butt-hurt and defeated.......

Jiu Jitsu is such a mental game. I think it's understandable that Pena was mentally affected by that news. But I think he should have not fought that night. Ryan was gonna be a douche either way, so why give him the opportunity to claim that Pena used his friend's death as an "excuse"? There is a difference between looking for excuses and understanding that the death of a friend or loved one is of a totally different level.

It’s understandable and Gordon had them offer to postpone the Match however Peña said he was fine and felt that he was going to win and then publicly talked trash after the news broke of his friends death. Then Pena lost and all of a sudden he wasn’t feeling up to the match and was pressured ? Lol okay buddy. If you felt that way why didn’t he postpone it like they offered ? Gordon wasn’t upset about him speaking on his friend passing he was upset that he tried to make it seem like he was forced into a match he didn’t want to have/shouldn’t have had.

He's basically ducking and calling it differently. And I don't think that Gordon doesn't believe that he would win the the fight, but it's a form of ducking nonetheless.

I'm just not a fan of the no time limit thing. For two guys who do nothing but roll all day I don't think a war of attrition is as interesting and hearing Gordon say he didn't really try for the first 45 minutes of a spectator sport is frustrating. If you can't get it done in 30 minutes that's enough for me.
