Crazy that Gordon basically lost the same way both times. He obviously didn't make that mistake again in the 3rd match but felipe definitely gives him trouble no matter what. Can't wait for this 4th match!

You have to put in context, that the 3rd match was less than 24h after Leandro Lo was killed. That influenced the match for sure and the outcome as well. Not a Pena fan, but we need to remain fair.

This was in 2017. Gordon hasn't lost since the January 2018. He is a different animal today. As he said, this match with Pena is free money for him.

Jucing aside, since Pena and everyone is also doing it. Gordon is a very different Monster now. Gordon knows and Pena knows it as well. This was shown in the 3rd match by which Gordon made Pena quit. Yet, I know it was been argued that Pena couldn't handle the loss of his dear friend, became tired and just didn't want to be there. Which he states in a recent interview. I understand this rational, and I don't dispute it. I work in mental health counseling, and come across lots of people who have suffered great loss. Loss is one of the most complicated things to walk people through in* counseling. On the other hand, I do think the argument could swing the other way just as much. The potential motivation it* could give you, to not give up or quit but really push yourself. To show honor and respect for your best friend, knowing that he himself wouldn't want you to give up. This drive can* come with a stronger motivation than an average day on the mats. This could be just as much of an argument. Either way, we will see this weekend. I am excited to see what happens. @Rob Mann I didn't recognize GR from the beginning while I could recognize Felipe right away. I highly doubt Roger Gracie was juicing. It's too obvious with the "The King" or more accurately "The Juice" has been on too many cycles

He may have been saucy late in his career when he won the triple crown jumping weight classes. He just won more elite tournaments for longer. It wouldve been very very interesting to see what he wouldve done this past year he was in tremendous shape training with Murilo. But Gordon needed the sauce to be "King Ryan". Gordon never beat him and Leandro didnt really do no gi. Plus he passed away unfortunately we wont get to see it run back. Also fuck Gordon Ryan because why not he's a tool. Leandro from what I've heard and seen was just a better person than what we see from Gordon. For me who you are as a person matters. And I am Leandro Lo fanboy he will always be the goat.

The goat pound for pound is probably Marcelo Garcia, at least in this BJJ sport format, he has a virtuosity and "japanese master" style that neither of this guys have. Also Mica Galvão is looking promising as a future goat as well. Gordon is for sure among the top 5 or top 3 best fighters of all time in no-gi BJJ, but he could never be considered the overall goat since he doesn't compete in gi.
