Gordon is so aware of Boehms tapping hand, he had his eye on it the entire time he was hunting that armbar. Boehm barely tapped and Gordon instantly let go. Didn't crank crazy or anything. His lvl of awareness for his opponents safety is pretty wild

@@jholmes45 and Roger tapped him- Gordon has never tapped anyone on the level of Marcelo Garcia. If you just look at who Roger has tapped vs who Gordon has tapped it's no debate that Roger tapped greater talent than Ryan. This is really not a knock on Ryan he can't help whose out there to compete, but Roger's quality of victories far better than Ryan. Also, Roger tapped a prime, younger version of Cyborg-where Gordon tapped a much older version of Cyborg.

😂 not sure how mma has anything to do with this. I'm not sure how this particular match is scored, but usually: submission wins automatically, you get points for sweeping (putting person on top on bottom) and pinning (maintaining side control, or mount, or back). Gordon is in a lot of sub-only matches, which means no points.

man those are some dickhead answers. That's not how we'll get new people into our sport. GR is the best nogi grappler in the world. At the moment he is basically untouchable. This being a no time limit sub only match, the only way to win is via tap. In the last few weeks, there were some sub only matches that went way to long. Sub only is pretty boring to watch in my opinion. If you are looking for some more action jiu jitsu, I highly recommend the ADCC coming up in a few weeks. It's the biggest grappling tournament on the planet and they have a ruleset that makes it much more entertaining to watch. hope that helps :)

The day that Gordon Ryan loses by sub in a no gi match, we will know that’ll be the changing of the guard. Otherwise he is the king of submission grappling

@@armon8399 na he played guard and attempted leg locks . in playing guard he managed to get his leg attacks off rather than just getting smashed. he forced gord to look for another opportunity, hence the triangle/armbar

@@deathofaclown this is called stalling. If someone is willing to take bottom position in grappling you should run through them like a train

Yeah, the first half he looked extremely tentative but after Gordon took top Kyle actually engaged in the attacks and forcing Gordon to actually work. I think a lot of guys lose to Gordon not only because he is a superior grappler but also because they respect his game way too much to the point they're afraid to play their own game. You can respect your opponent, but you can't give him too much respect to where you effectively shut your own game down.

Besides Galvao, how many world champions has he beaten in his last 10-15 matches? He’s very good yes, but who is he beating? He’s beating good guys, game guys, but not world champions. He submitted Galvao but Andre is 40 years old. In the last 5 years, when Gordon rough Simoes, Rocha, and Buchecha (all gi or nogi world champions) he either won off decision or like 1-0. When he starts submitting world champions under the age of 35, I think we can start to give him more cred.
