During a brilliant session at Shardlow marina fishing for roach I found that feeding with groundbait was the best way to control how the fish were reacting in the peg.

Match fishing and primarily uk match fishing is what I love to do. Carp are often the main target but bream, F1s and other silverfish are often the way to win a fishing match. Hard pellet fishing with a margin fishing approach using sweetcorn for big carp or luncheon meat and that’s often a winning tactic for a snake lake when targeting carp. Method feeder fishing or hybrid feeder fishing is a tactic that works especially well and something that will catch more fish on any Uk fishery, method feeders and hybrid feeders are great when used with pellets and wafters or mini boilies as the perfect hookbait for carp, F1s and bream. Fishing videos are a great way of learning and I try to include a Live match where I take the GoPro camera to a match fishing environment and filming a match fishing event a detail the decision making process including watercraft when to feeder fish and when to pole fish and the right time of day to fish in the margins.

I know you weren't using it at full length but that pole looks super stiff. What make/model is it. Great video Rob.

It’s very stiff Dave ... A middy xz65 .... probably the stiffest I’ve seen
Hey Rob. Just a question. Why didnt you use a baitdropper at one point? When there was no need for the dryer groundbait anymore?

The groundbait is still a great attractor, a bait dropper for me is to get some loose feed down in fast water or when the fish don’t want any groundbait at all.
Hi, we're abouts on the marina where u? I went to reccie it on Sunday and the shop said there was no fishing. Confused !!

We fished on the concrete bank opposite the workshop doors ..... there’s fewer and fewer bits to fish there now and the swims we usually fish were having tree work done. I do get the impression that the boaters aren’t keen on fishermen ☹️

Not being awkward but Get on a peg thats not solid and then SHOW how to make a peg thats not full of fish ,thats what would float my boat as its very rare we draw ( well me anyway) anywhere like that . Awesome angler rob but make it difficult for yourself

Sounds like you’re being awkward Mike😁😁. To be fair it was tough to start with in this day but after an hour or so I started catching..... The drier groundbait attracted them👍

@@RobWootton not at all rob appreciate your content ,however happy to argue , my point is ive been patted on the back by lee kerry for a team effort on nationals etc etc , currently struggling with my fishing and if you put yourself on a peg that you knew was hard , perhaps not so many views BUT you would get my upmost respect by showing me how you would approach such a situation , thats all , brilliant talented angler you are as many others , an insight to an awful draw / very hard area on a canal would make our (ie the not so angling blessed) a tad easier maybe , thats all
