Just subscribed and liked this vid. Just started fishing again after god knows how many years, was match fishing in my youth and young adult life, then after leaving school found beer, women, work then got married joined the army had kids, lived 19 lives in this one life scuba diving and skydiving and now after early retirement have discovered it again. Became a bailiff for the local angling society and have bought all my gear and plan to start match fishing in the new year again. Still like my other sports including marathon running (done London 6 times best time 3hrs 23mins), mountain biking, road race biking plus any other challenges. Have a 14.5m pole, fishing station, hard pole case plus everything else you need and I live next to a canal that has a good fish stock in it plus numerous commercial fisheries within easy driving distance.

Great video. Something worth trying is hooking your maggots at the narrow pointy end rather than the fat end, especially if using double maggot etc. You’ll get a better hook hold and stop any hook pulls from the maggots folding over the hook. It’s certainly helped my bites to fish in the net ratio. I hope this helps. All the best.
